Basically it's a show that's deceptively fun and light until it punches you right in the feels. It's about Scott, who gets bitten by something whilst in the woods at night looking for half of a corpse (as one does) with his best friend, Stiles. Turns out the something is a werewolf and there's a bigger, badder werewolf out there killing people. There's also Derek, a lone werewolf, who tries to be Scott's Yoda (but Stiles is totally better at that). There's new-girl Allison, who's Juliet to Scott's Romeo, where the Capulets and Monague's are hunters and werewolves. There's Lydia, who hides her genius behind a superficial-girl mask. There's Jackson, captain of the lacrosse team until Scott wolfs-out, which makes him very suspicious. Everyone has issues and the supernatural brings in more. ( Read more... )

So...I haven't done a proper update entry since June 18th. *sheepish look* Yeah, well, nothing much going on, really.

Still horribly unemployed and basically unable to deal with doing anything about it because I happen to like shooting myself in the foot. The brother's been trying to run intervention on this, but seeing as his pep talks leave me weeping in the corner for the rest of the day, not so much with the helping, that one. ( Read more... )

I've been trying to do things, though, even if I haven't been actively looking for a job.

(Well, I tried twice. Once, I didn't find anything and ended up crying over, well, my life and my [horribly uninformed] choices, and the other time I actually sent out an application, so, y'know, success.)

Basically the things I've been doing include diving headfirst into Teen Wolf and not getting behind on Tumblr (the tiny little sparks of joy in my life), writing up the code for those travel posts (which I keep pushing through mainly because I try to finish what I start, but also because

chaosvizier is awesome and provides hilarious captions to the photographs, making it all worthwhile), and making fanart. Oh, I've also stuck pretty well to an exercise regime this past week, even though the temperature here is murderous. Seriously, it's mid thirties all the time and yes that includes goddamnit I want to sleep but instead I'm lying here sweating time.

So that's how I am. A little bit of "lalala I'm not listening", some "let's go into emotional hiberanation!" and some "I. Am. Going. To Die." existential panic. \o/ Anyway, have some thingies I made and some links.

Not dead, not dead, calm your horses. Some days I don't even remember I have a Livejournal. *sigh* Anyway, nothing new happening. I've sent out a few job applications, haven't heard back from any of them so far but, eh, *fingers crossed* right?

But enough about soul-sucking things. In the list of things that are making me happy I've recenty added Tom Hiddleston (my tumblr tag), because he's a precious ray of sunshine. In the list I have a lot of feels about I've added Loki (my tumblr tag), because of his sibling relationship with Thor, his identity crisis, his "fuck this, I'm going to be evil" snap, and basically all the angst. Shock of shocks, I know. So there's that.

The status quo continues to drag, but at least I've finally made a to-do list and actually managed to cross off a few items! Sure, they're items I shouldn't be wasting time on anyway, but hey, at least something got done.

I finally - after some two months - emailed Kevin and Ursula Eat Cheap. The thing is that in Naples I visited the Naples Archaeological Museum, which has a Secret Cabinet, and all I could think of was

ursulav's Phalloi art (Adult and NSFW, even if adorable). So I just had to send in some photographs.

I keep writing posts in my head, in detail, about all the events and feelings and musings I want to share or simply need to set down. But then time passes and I get everything together and then there's nothing to say. I've been quite lax in posting as of late - and by that I mean something like the past few months, honestly - and for that, well, sorry. If anything for the out-of-date links. Whatev'. I hope everyone had a good New Year's Eve and Day, and wish y'all the best for 2012. Smile! If we live through the Mayan apocalypse, we get to look forward to the Croatoan virus.

One reason I've not been writing anything is that I've been spending all my time blissfully mellowed out with Tumblr. Another, more acceptable reason, is that there's nothing to say. Which is of course a lie because I could always pull something out about fandom, at the least. But lately I've not been doing much. Well, I've been finishing compilations (see below). But otherwise not really doing much of anything. Today I went out running after weeks of impersonating a hibernating grub and I started looking for plane tickets to go visit my brother, although that's causing all sorts of anxiety because I don't even know. (The looking-for-tickets thing, not visiting-my-brother, mind.) I did go socializing that one time, with my volunteer-work supervisor, which was lovely and wonderful, but it's quite sad to basically be able to point at a month or a string of months, "That's when I hung out with folk." So I've been Tumblring a lot and watching a lot of television and huddling under every warm thing I can find and generally not thinking about much of anything. Except maybe about how I'm still waiting for a Christmas card from

mrscastielftw to arrive - it's somewhere in the between-homes postage ether - and it's getting to be a long, sad wait. It doesn't help that I've been falling asleep at 4 am these past few days.

Even now I'm drawing a blank, just that I really wanted to post because a) it's the new year and I might as well tell y'all I'm not dead and b) Links of the Day. So there you go. Oh, and memes. Now, excuse me, I have some American Horror Story to streamline into my veins.

I had every intention of making a post today - well, a proper one, this one doesn't count - but since today's been crap, that plan's been scrapped. Besides, I haven't done much today: went to work, was cold, put subtitles on a documentary all day, Tumblred, was bored, was even more cold, had lunch with people (even through I was a social-anxiety-cat all the way and besides, no one talked to me, not really), was attacked by dodos (i.e. massive wibbles for no reason), was cold, went home, went to the park to knit (for some strange reason), went home again, was even more cold, obsessively organized my hundreds of GIFs into fandom folders (because' I'm that kind of crazy), wrote this crap.

And now, The Walking Dead! And hopefully my fingers and toes will stop aching in my barely-nineteen-degrees room with a goddamn breeze. I am so cold.
