bending_sickle: (Do not start with me)
Lately I've been swinging between a hankering for Disney/Pixar films or horror films. I think we all know what that means! Escapism for the win! Lately I've watched Toy Story and How to Tame Your Dragon, and I have Devour, Triangle and Anastasia lined up. Blood, guts and children's stories have always gone well together.

Which is kind of why I'm being utterly lame in the postage of things and even more lame in the writing of cover letters for stories thing or the finishing goddamned fanvid thing or all that other shite.

Also, still unemployed.

Life: Meeting with Supervisor was had. I was a ball of nerves. Things went well regardless. I now have a date for a colloquim presentation. We are not amused.

Fandom: Watched the Fall special of Doctor Who. Ow, my hearts. The Quote of the Day sums it all up nicely. I think the Doctor was a bit of a gigantic moron in his choice of date-and-location at the end, but maybe that was on purpose because he's the Doctor and he can do anything, damnit. The preview for the next specials filled me with joy \o/ Oh, familiar faces, how I've missed you!

Nano: Still missing 227 words, but it's 2 fucking am and I can't sit at this computer anymore. Fucking bastard of a novel with hard-to-write action scenes and an angel who keeps pushing back his appearance. Icarus, boy, get your ass in here right now!

Quote of the Day: [livejournal.com profile] tommx, on Doctor Who's "The Waters of Mars", here
For a while I was thinking "This isn't quite what I expected...I thought it'd be better." Then I started cheering...then I sat in horror.

I told my family about Nano. My dad was all, "Oh, you used to write such nice stories," although I can't remember him ever reading any of my school work, my brother said, "Well, good luck..." and my mom said, "Great, and the thesis still needing to be finished and the job that'll let you eat and pay the rent??? Or had you forgotten that detail?" and then, "Well, you can imagine that I don't understand a lot of what Chip's doing with his gun and his bread in the glove box in Des Moines!!! (where Gods passed at night**)... But it's alright if it doesn't take time away from your work, your search for a job and your social relations, these three priorities." This just all made for a very ;-; Sickle, when I wasn't blankly being blank like so o.o

Basically today's been one of those days where if I had to defend my continued existence in terms of worth, I would've been sucked back into the void faster than a Weeping Angel. Read more... )

Am now going to get food, watch television and write NaNo. Tomorrow I'll re-enter the land of the living.

Gah, bored out of my mind.

So bored, in fact, I filled out a survey and tried and failed to find the Heroes trivia thingy on Facebook [livejournal.com profile] veetvoojagig posts about (realizing in the process why I hate facebook and it's navigational fail so much).

ETA: About the survey )

I've been doing the whole "I'll eat/shower/go out/etc. later" for hours on end. Honestly, I've done shite, and I have a headache I'm so hungry and a shower would be most excellent but I just can't be bothered to move. There is a total lack of oomf here, folks. Bleh...

Apathetic, really. With or without the a.

Stop having social lives, people! Get back on the internet! I'm all alone here!

The worst are the ones you build yourself.*

There's a general feeling of sinking about today, mixed in which a dash of rage.

The rage is quite easy to explain: roomies are idiots. The newest "Whatthefiggit?" is that the other two don't consider it quite necessary to actually have a phone** if we don't have internet. (Which no, we'll never ever get.) No need for a phone. Seriously. Then they look at me and say, "Well, you're the only one who uses it, really. No one calls me on that line anyway. Sure, I use it sometime, but because it's there, you know; I don't need it."

Fuck you, bitches, says I.

And that's me controlling myself.

The sinking feeling is multitextured. There's the lack of levity thanks to all the financial statements I maybemighthaveshouldhave sent and the dwindling chances of being accepted to anywhere purely for this reason, the floundering feeling of having long empty afternoons to fill, the yoke-like sensation of European universities to investigate, the drowning sensation thanks to being abrupty whisked away from Prety Decent Existance With People I Love to Crappy Existance with No People at All.

Which is why instead of thinking about any of this, I read about nijas and pirates making up (but not out), how to prepare for the zombipocalypse and the joys of rum.

But you can be hoity-toity and use you brain for something, like reading this metaquote regarding homosexual vs. heterosexual divorce. Most of it is a bunch of crock until you get to [livejournal.com profile] birdboy2000's comment and those that follow.

Meanwhile, I've going to totally waste the following precious half hour of my existance doing shite all.
