I'm sending Death a damn fruit basket!*

There's not much going on right now. I went to get my fiscal code on Friday, but they'd run out of numbers and had some computer trouble besides, so I left empty handed. I'm going to try again on Tuesday, because they're open in the afternoon on that day and you have to be there before they open if you want even the slimmest hope of being seen to.
Mom's in Spain as of Wednesday, so it's just Dad and me. I seem to get on better with my dad when my mom's not here, but even so, argh. Tomorrow we're going to a ballet - Swan Lake, methinks - and I've got to do all the things I meant to do today tomorrow because I'll be damned if I do them today. Which means German homework and CV rewrites and all that fun stuff, including the Fanfic which I stopped writing October 31st on account of Nano and haven't found the oompf to finish or even work on it yet.

Supernatural 6x13 "Unforgiven":
- \o/ The boys are talking about Papa Winchester!
- Monster not terribly monstery, and again we have the problem of the boys killing the monster in front of them and totally forgetting about all the other monsters. Sheesh, boys, there's all the men who were turned last year, and now all the women who were turned this year. That's a lot of monsters on the loose.
- As for the rest: OMGWTFBBQSaaaaaaaam!
Supernatural: The Anime 1x01 "The Alter Ego":
- The anime looks pretty damn awesome (although please keep in mind that I haven't watched anime in over 15 years).
- Sam looks like Sam down to his tiny little mole, but Dean? Dean is creepy as fuck. And skeevy. He doesn't look like Dean at all, even setting aside the "black hair and brown eyes" combination, which, what the fuck?. He just looks like Generic Symmetric Maleface. And his voice doesn't make me gooey, which is sad.
- As for the story, I have no idea. My Japanese only gets me far enough to know that at one point, someone said thank you, but the story still seems pretty cool.
- ...until Dean blew up like a balloon and then went all Aliens. o.0
- Dad's journal! \o/
- *sporfles* Dean actually just went :D at Sam!
- The closing credits are drawings of the wee boys! Set to Wayward Son! Oh, SPN-anime, you got a lot right!
Mad Dogs 1x01:
- Oh, it feels good to see John Simm and Philip Glenister again! And hey, Marc Warren's a nice surprise!
- The opening scene. OMG the opening scene. When are we ging to get back to that?!? Fast-forward, series, I need to know!
- Amazing! Their Spanish doesn't suck! It actually sounds like Spanish! And it's incredibly bizarre to hear an Englishman speak Spanish with a good Spanish accent, or at least the Spanish pronunciation.
- I get that they're setting things up for the "this series is a thriller" concept, but sometimes things felt like they went on a bit too long until something just a little off happens and then I'm on the edge of my seat, peering at the screen with Leonardo Dicaprio-like squintiness intensity, trying to see what else I'm missing.
- There was this exchange headed by
the GuvPhilip Glenister's character, Quinn, which made me have to pause and transcribe it. (Baxter's played by John Simm, by the way.)Baxter: So we all like, middle-aged now, then?
Woody: Speak for yourself.
Baxter: How did that happen?
Quinn: It's like...one minute, you're loking forward to everything, the next minute you're looking over your shoulder. You go from thinking you gonna live forever, to thinking you got brain tumour or somethin' if you got a headache.
Baxter: Yeah, it's all green tea and fish oil from here on in, mate. - I'm loving wee Simm in his glasses and scruffy beard!
- I'm also loving Glenister's character who is all bottled-angst and actual common sense in that if your friend is acting strange and erratic and mean, you might just want to bail out on the crazy-ass cruise.
- The cliffhanger ending was cliffhangery. *shakes fist*

(An aside to the gentlemen. Imagine that there is an invisible midget following you around. This midget's duty is grap hold of your testicles and give them a good solid crushing wrench. Whenever this happens, it triggers a debilitating and instantaneous bout of bowel-busting diarrhoea that leaves you hunched over a toilet for ten minutes, clammy and groaning. Now imagine that every woman you told about this condition merely advised you to "work through it.")

Date: 2011-02-12 06:15 pm (UTC)This week has been ROTTEN, ROTTEN, which is why I haven't been around as much - I'm sorry, sweetheart! (Although I tried to sneak about your journal a bit, so you'd know I'm still alive and the works. ;) If you so wish, feel free to give my German prof a bitchslap or two for the B he rated my essay with. For the record, I haven't had a B in German in three years! GRRR UPSET LITTLE SESCHAT WAS UPSET. XD
I'll gladly look over your grammar, sweets! *smishes lovingly* (If it so happens and I get to my Spanish homework, would you mind very much to give it a quick look as well? We have to hand it in, is why, else I wouldn't even bother. *is academically soul-crushed*)
For now, I'm off to watch Black Swan with dearest P! Hope it's gonna be a good one.
Miss you, too, my sunshiiine! ♥

Date: 2011-02-12 07:56 pm (UTC)Aw, darling, I'm so sorry this week's been crap to you. *consolation hugs* I hope the weekend's shaping up to be better, and don't you worry about your German prof. I've got my big boots on and I found just the right dark alley. Now, to smack the hell out of that B... And of course I'll help you with your Spanish homework!
Tell me what you thought of The Black Swan. I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard good things. I just finished watching Never Let Me Go which, of course, required me to cry and cry over it, which is not surprising because the book makes me bawl my eyes out. (By the way, read this book omg.) It was very good, even if I kept wishing they'd kept some scenes in (but then the movie would've been 4 hours long...), but damn, the story breaks my heart.
Gaaah! What would I do if you were put in cryogenic sleep?!? Don't leave me! Fill up the non-Sherlock season with other goodies! Like, um *flips through her Currently-Watching list* Secret Diary of a Call Girl (3 seasons out!) and oooh, the new Mad Dogs (http://sky1.sky.com/mad-dogs) just came out, with delicious John Simm! And hey, SPN, dude! Where is your squee?!? Also, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (which is practically required viewing for our generation) and all things Whedon. Also, True Blood, the True Crack of Win.
...just don't disappear! ♥

Black Swan was made of some serious win! P even called it Kafkaesque (of which I approved heartily, naturally, even if I'm not sure if I 100% agree), but the cold, alien atmosphere of it definitely was reminiscent of Kafka. Anyway, the dancing (omg, the final dance!) and music and colours and clothes and the way the sets looked - all highly important criteria of Things Seschat Enjoys About a Movie - it was all good, all brilliant. Also, I thought the characters very well-cast, so all-around thumbs-up! Only, if you can help it, maybe don't go to see the movie with your mother or father or anything. I guess it'd be pretty awkward watching all the sex scenes with your parents sitting beside me. For heaven's sake, it was awkward with P sitting beside me. *grins* And now I want to rewatch the movie, possibly alone, so I can pore over it all I want and geek out over the pretty details. XD
Must check out Never Let Me Go, yessss. *watches trailer*
I'm not going anywhere, sweetheart! NEVER! *clings to you manically* (Just don't leave either, okay? I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE! DON'T THINK I WILL HESITATE TO COME AND INVESTIGATE!)

Date: 2011-02-13 08:27 pm (UTC)I just saw the trailer for Black Swan, so it looks like they're finally releasing it here. Soon, my precious! And Kafkaesque ftw! Thanks to you, I now even know what that means! *basks in knowledge* I've read reviews and summaries and it totally fits Kafka.
OMGWTFGermanProfWTF. Seriously. What. He shouldn't be dissing you. At all. Ever. No. Bad prof.
And besides, evil sarcastic ways are awesome and no one should tell you different. Sarcasm is the salt of the earth! The awesome in the awesomesauce! The sharpest tool in the battle of words! Come on, he only wishes he could pull off scathing sarcasm.
The Never Let Me Go book is one of those books I take out and lovingly pet on occasion. It's A Good Book. I'd say it's best to read the book before watching the movie, because the book slooooowly unravels The Mystery of just what the hell is happening to these people, and because some scenes in the book are more poignant and meaningful if you remember all the character exposition and development the movie skips over but the book describes. Like there'll be a scene of a boy having an angry fit, and it's suppose to be this big meaningful event, but since the movie hasn't really shown you much about the boy, it's just a fit.
Alright, it's a promise: neither of us are ever leaving ♥ *clings desperately to you too*

Date: 2011-02-13 12:57 pm (UTC)...wiel du nicht die erste bist, wer in diese Situation sich findet. - I'm not sure the "wer" is right, and I hope the "sich findet" is okay.
Es gibt verschieden Art und Weise, wie man kann diese Internetsucht zu umgehen. - I'm not sure whether the "zu" is supposed to be there.
Er musst verstehen, wie sein Verhalten dich und deine Kindern betroffen macht. - Verb order OMG. "Wie" isn't a "verb at the end" word, but I can't figure out another way of putting "betroffen machen" in there.
...dann vorschlage ich, dass du ihn ein Internetzeitlimit gibt. - "dass du ihn" is wrong, isn't it?
...versuche ihn einen kalten Entzug zu machen. - Again with the "zu" existential dilema.
Now, gimme some Spanish I can help you with in return ♥

Date: 2011-02-13 03:05 pm (UTC)Es gibt verschiedene Arten und Weisen, (--> plural) wie man diese Internetsucht umgehen kann. - The "zu" isn't necessary here. :)
Er muss
t(--> du musst, er muss) verstehen, wie sein Verhalten dich und deine Kinder betrifft. - (Suggestion: use "beeinflusst" instead -- his behaviour affects you and the children, as in, negatively. It fits better here, in my opinion. "Betreffen" in this instance sounds like "it concerns you and the children". But not like it worries us concern, the other concern. The "it regards us" concern. YEAH. :D I CAN HAS COHERENCE \o/)...dann schlage ich vor, dass du ihm (--> Dativ) ein Internetzeitlimit gibst. (--> du gibst) - "Dass du ihn" is not at all wrong, except for the n/m thing.
...versuche, ihn auf kalten Entzug zu setzen. - I'd phrase it like that, though I never heard or seen anyone use the term "kalter Entzug". Just "Entzug" is more common. "Ich bin auf Entzug." I mean, that's just so you know, for future reference. "Kalter Entzug" is fine as well, though a bit unusual. Pity that, "cold turkey" is such a lovely colloquialism.
Hope this was of some use to you, my darling. ♥
I'd love to throw some Spanish at you, but alas, it's still undone.

Date: 2011-02-13 08:13 pm (UTC)I don't know why I thought there might be a "who" as in "the person who is doing this" and not a question-who. But it's die all the way, I guess :) And I still haven't gotten the hang of zu back. It's one of those things I've gotten fuzzy on again. All I remember is that it's sometimes used like "to", like, "it's hard to do that" is "es ist schwierig zu machen", yes? *prays she didn't mess the example up*
Thanks so much for the betriffen vs. beeinflusst clear up! That's the concern I was looking for, but apparently translation dictionaries have their weak spots.
The Dativ tense is so kicking my ass :(
"Cold turkey" is indeed a beautiful imagery to stick into one's sentence, and it was all I could come up with to say "stop an addiction". (Withdrawl! Damnit word, where were you when I needed you?!) It's a shame my German teacher doesn't know English, because then she wouldn't go o.0 at "kalter Entzug". So I'm throwing out the kalter as you suggest. Entzug is a pretty word, by the way.
You were of great help, my love! Thank you so much!
