Went to Schipol Airport, wandered around, found an entire floor with a restaurant which I never knew about, so had a slightly disappointing pancake (the Dutch version, keep in mind) and a teeny tiny cap'. Then I wandered some more, scribbled in my diary (which at this rate will make yet another year), then I talked myself into going back to Leiden.

So, because I don't want to think at all about much of anything, incase my emotions get the better of me, or my hormones (damn them all to hell), I've been catching up on my flit. Which means this post is going to have oodles of Doctor Who links.

But before that, I sort of got quoted and then really did get quoted on [livejournal.com profile] ljdq! \o/ This makes me happy.

I'm not going to go into what I thought about the episode in depth. But I'm going to talk a bit about it. )

Okay rationally I get why, I DO, BUT MY HEART IS NOT MY BRAIN AND THUS IT STILL HURTS SO FUCKING MUCH.

[livejournal.com profile] ladyvoldything's comment

I really want to see them actually giving the Doctor a long-term character arc- of going from the angry, manic, dark loner who just wanted a blonde to squish to the happy but still dark loner who couldn't open his heart to a love who would just die to EMO EMO EMO EMO EMO EVERYTHING I TOUCH DIIIIIEEEES to actually functional.

Other quotes by other people, but spoilerific. )

There is no post. You need no post.

Tales of my recent adventures will be recounted later, when I'm not all internetted out from catching up on three days worth of flist and Links of the Day.

^ I am a horrible, horrible person. While I'd dance if there were canon Derek/Sarah, the idea of Derek/Cameron (i.e. manly-man from the robopocalypse future / Terminator from the future) and what it would do to Derek is just so full of mindblowing potential for angst and mindfucks and, and... Oh, it'll be great. Don't believe me? Go a few posts back and see the look on his face when he spies Cameron doing ballet all on her lonesome. That right there is worth a good load of fanfic^^ in itself.
^^ Speaking of, there's one Derek-centric drabble idea that just won't let me go. I think I might actually try and write it. (Egads! Me? Write? Craaaazy, I know, but it just might happen.)

*high-pitched and unending squee*

In other news, I got out of bed at 1 pm (unfortunatly, not unusual - my body seems to think its somewhere in the Atlantic, time-zone wise), cleaned the apartment (mopping the floor without a mop was interesting), got groceries (foooooooood) and re-watched Voyage of the Damned (where David Tennant is gorgeous - and lanky - in a rumpled tux and, yes, the inevitable Chucks). Gods that happy couple in VotD makes me so frelling happy. That's what I want, right there.

Watching Shaun of the Dead last night, I realized that Shaun's mum, Barbara, was Penelope Wilton. Yes, that's right, Dr Who's Harriet Jones, Prime Minister. The fandoms, they bleed together!

ETA: Whilst comment-chatting with [livejournal.com profile] pythfic, she responded to my doubts as to Noah Bennet's omniscience with, "Also, c'mon. He's Noah fucking Bennet. He has ways of finding this out." To which I innocently replied that it "ought to be on a pin or flag or somethin'." So she says the magic word: icon.

It's her fault. Really, it is.

...has repeatedly attacked the key infrastructure targets, reducing outputs.

I really have nothing to say, peeps. I'm feeling slightly ill after my take-out stir-fry dinner which is basically the sum total of actual meals I had today (other edibles include a roll of bread, a plate of fries, and hot cocoa with a torta, c/o Elisa for our T3**).

Other than that, I am le tired*** after 7 straight hours of class + 2 more hours with nigh an hour's break in between. I hate the T-days of the week.

Thankfully, though, ye great panic of yesterday failed to raise its head. Yays. Likewise for the random crying, which had me typing I don’t know why I’m crying but it’s breaking my heart at the bottom of a document where I'm working on a "Year of 2007" Recap Meme. I still don't know, but it fucking hurt.

(There is intellectual panicking because the March seminar in Sustainability is bloody frickin' full. This - or its counterpart, Biodiversity, in 2009 - is a mandatory seminar for the Masters program. And what do they do? Allow only 12 people of all sorts of programs. The amusement, it is not there.)

The neighbours have progressed from drunken rock singing to loud hip hop. We are not amused.

ETA: The drunken singing has resumed. I would smack a bitch, but I'm too tired. (Sweet and fluffy lord, he's singing the same line over and over again. Damn it, I put up with your repetitive guitar practice, don't go on sining "Quiiiii- liiiight" or whatev'.)

ETA2: The repeat-line is "by my side". They will. Not. Stop. Singing it.
