The cold I've been sneezing and sniffling all past week decided that today was the day it was going to make me dizzy, woozy and headachey. I slipped into a nap in the afternoon as I lay horizontal in the hopes that the ground would solidify beneath me, and I'm still feeling out of sorts (and dizzy, let's not forget dizzy).

Jolted out of an unexpected nap and still reeling from The Cold is not the best way in which to answer a phonecall about setting up an appointment with Organization to discuss my CV. I managed to do so somehow, although I barely remember who I spoke to or what they say - at machine-gun speed, too. Nevertheless, Wednesday morning will be interesting.

This weekend was the Jus in Bello Convention weekend. It's in Rome. Y'all remember how I felt about this last year, right? *sigh* So close, so far, so stupid. So instead of What Could Have Been, this weekend I went to the horse fair Roma Cavalli. Here, have some videos and photos of horses doing pretty things:

I think, though, that a little loss here or there, putting up with yet another learning experience or growth opportunity, is about a gazillion times better than shutting down your empathy and never giving anything to anyone for fear that it might be misused. Leave some chinks in your armor, or you'll suffocate in your safety and never understand why it hurts so much even though there's no one there but you.
