Lockit at the time. I'm disturbingly awake (and yes, still inexplicably broken). Finished presentation, but haven't jotted down notes or practiced the talk. It might take some speed talking to make it less'n 20 minutes. I may or may not be irrevocably fucked. Considering I need to bike to the other side of town to print stuff before making it to my presentation and I'm all out of breakfast food, I'm leaning more towards the "may", sans "not".

I've been listening to [livejournal.com profile] lilyrose_icons's Fanmix: Leave Me Your Stardust for quite a few hours now. Non-stop. Kinda sorta misery-inducing, now that I think on it. (Bloody gorgeous, yes, but addictively sad.)

Omg, what am I going to wear for my presentation?!?

(These are thoughts that I get at 2 am, when I'm cold and hungry and still, psychologically at least, hiding behind a sofa waiting for the zombies to break into the house. Niiiice sofa, goooood sofa.)

Argh. Fuck school.

ETA: This video is making me giggle like a fiend. Obviously it's time to go to sleep...LIKE A FIEND! )

I'm making a note here: huge success!*

Guess who just got a motherlovin' 9 on her internship?**

Me!

That's who!

Whoot!

*dance of victory*

You know what else? I have a meeting tomorrow with my other supervisor about a possible internship in Amboselli National Park. Like, zomg, ftw!

Woo-to-the-hoo!

Naturally, under the circumstances, I wanted to call Ma and dance a bit over the phone. Wow, was that a sucker. Read more... )

ETA: Seriously, the porter was more ecstatic over the grade than my mom. *hmpfr*

* "Still Alive", JCoulton
** Grading scale 1-10, where 10 is "Omg this thing is so perfect, we only ever give out 10's once a century". So, basically, 9 = highest achievable grade without being God.
bending_sickle: (Keep me?)
The rest of the day has been full of squee (except moments when Sickle remembers What Mom Said). I bought The Mammoth book of Monsters (Stephen Jones, Ed.) second hand off this guy who stacks walls of books-inna-box in all manner of languages right in the plaza. I'm on my thrid story, The Man He Had Been Before by Scott Edelman (zombiepocalypse + abusive father + boy aged 14, aged 6 at 'lypse). Had a delightful lunch at EZ Wok. Totally failed to pwn hip hop but damn, we still did good.

And now, sleepy!

DESCRIPTION: A post-Island Lost/Discworld crossover fic. It's been a little less than a year since all the problems have been sorted out with the survivors of Oceanic 815, the mysterious island on which they were marooned, and its other inhabitants. But Desmond Hume is finding it difficult to re-adjust to life. He's plagued by nightmares and disturbing visions. He always feels as if he's being watched. Is it paranoia, or something far more sinister? Only Ms. Hawking and the History Monks know for sure...
