icon_tutorial for all your icon needs (with excellent links on the Memories), these random Tutorials: Tutorial 1, Tutorial 2, Tutorial 3, Tutorial 4, Tutorial 5, Tutorial 6 and Tutorial 7.
Then there´s the wonderful FREE program GIMP, which has this chat tutorial thingy besides a bunch or articles inicon_tutorial.
Then there´s screencaps and the Firefly-centric site.
And my brother sent me a link to Inkspace which is, from what I gather, a program for drawing stuff, though it can also make banners and icons.
...I never woulda thought I´d be interested in computer programs. Granted, they´re artsy and make pretty things.
And I only want them because I´m a little fangirl*. :)
And because I could make so many sexy, sexy icons. *lick*
