Finally realized why JPhoenix seemed so familiar in the press-room clip for the Golden Globe. He's acting just like Firefly's Simon Tam when flirting* with Kaylee!

Allow me to pimp a collection of some great scenes in Firefly.


The life of me:

Am currently shocked to find myself reading a Russian-mafia-cop-thriller novel (The Big Bad Wolf by James Patterson). Love the word zamochit which is, apparently, a symbolic kind of murder wherein the killer breaks every bone in the victim's body to symbolize utter domination. I try not to think about the meaning when I say it, though, 'cause man, has the book got some creepy passages. Its writing causes me to scoff sometimes, begging for less repetition and a softer use of the exclamation point, but all in all it's turning out alright.

Today on the bus home, after going to check my French exam results (not out yet), I saw two nuns get on. They crossed themselves seconds after. Should that be a comfort to me?

Which reminds me, the bank sent gran a postcard promoting some trip to Egypt, and they ended saying they wished her the blessings of Horus, Amon, Osiris and Anubis.

Now, I don't know about you, but personally I wouldn't want my presence to be brought to the attention of the gods of the dead.

Sent mom the link for the grad school in Maine, and she points out that it's on the corner of No and Where and that that might not be the best place to spend a large number of years.

Am now re-reading wikipedia's descriptions of post-grad general info and am sinking into "daunted" mode. ( Read more about gradschool here )

I've signed up for the German summer course, and have to pay tomorrow. I also have to pay rent, which means that I'm going to be pretty much broke. I have three hopes: 1) getting paid promptly for my work, 2) using parent's visa, 3) my other debit card finally stopping its BS and recognizing the correct PIN.

I left a note for my roommates to go pay the telephone themselves and put the last remaining toilet roll in the bathrrom next to the empty shell of a toilet-paper-plastic-wrapper. Just to see if Alba gets the hint that a) there's no more paper and b) it's her turn.

I'm getting a bit frustrated with living with almost-never-there roommates.

Am tired (in the "my brain feels fluffy and gooey and slow, like a sleepy zombie") and I really should do grammar exercises in French. But first, I'll watch a bit on youtube.com.

Because Slither is definately coming to Spain. And that is all kinds of cool. (Uh, hello? Hot guy and horror-humour a-la-Sean of the dead*? What's not to like?)

I have nothing to say other than the fact that I've just finally downloaded The March of the Sinister Ducks.

And why, exactly, was this extended gag reel for Firefly not on the DVD?

On a completely different note: if you’re offered 25* for one cow on a rinky-dink planet, how much would you be expected to pay for one whole night with a whore at the docks of a commercial planet?

For that matter, would I be insane if I said the price for one night was approximately the same as the cost of a full round of bullets?

Or would I be cheap?

...except I've installed the bloody Mozilla ActiveX Plugin and gazillion times, restarted the gorram browser and everything, and the frelling video won't freakin' play.

Now I'm not one to like a southern drawl overmuch, being more of the Irish-appreciatin' type, but is it bad that I love it when Nathan Fillion drawls? And he does just that in Slither, which looks not so much scary or gory as much as funny.


PS: If I have to go to the bathroom one more time I am going to scream. Stupid over-working kidneys, take a break.
