Yesterday as I was trying to recover from reading 4 chapters on pedagogy in one (long) sitting, I watched Jurassic park: The Lost World (oh, Ian, you thing you) and some horrifying montage of interviews re: Bush, where they talked about how B-man is basically a reborn christian and some conspiracy / lying bits too. I like my governments to be divided from religion (like, no, you *don't* quote scripture before a parliamentary meeting and you sure as hell don't tell your officers "that there is the devil* y'all see in the sky").

* It was a plane.

So imagine my delight when I see a commercial for a new series that's coming in September. (Of course, I then realized that I wouldn't be in the North America or have cable in Eurpoe and thus wouldn't actually get to watch these. There are other ways, of course...) The commecial was for a series called "Bones" and it's got this woman who's an expert on bones, some long-dead people and a young guy in a suit. Guess who's in the suit.

David Boreanaz. Captain Forehead, if you will. (For all you living under a rock, that's the Angel guy from that Buffy spin-off series. Ringing any giant bells yet?)

And *then* I saw another commercial for a new show about a cook who just got out of prison and is now running a kitchen (I kept getting those two words mixed up just now, so he was just out of a kitchen and running a prison. That would be interesting...). And in one short clip, so I'm guessing not a big role, was Nick Brendon. (As in Xander, from BtVS. Really, people.)

So nice to see that people are getting jobs after the death of Whedon-verse. (At least, the TV-death, 'cause Firefly's going to be released later this year as a movie - squee!!! - as Serenity, I think.

And a few days ago I got to watch Andromeda not because I thought it was particularly cool or that Kevin whathisname should be anything but Hercules (and that *only* if his cute frined is nearby), but because it was the one with James Marsters as a guest.

I just have this to say: gratuitous bare-chest scene. In blue sily robe.

Hummanah...

Talking about chocolate - at least, I certainly was thinking about it *evil grin* - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's coming out the day I finish my TESL. Am so pleased.

In TESL, I made a fool of meself. I blame the grammar book for totally not explaining things and just giving two columns. I'm supposed to figure out that there's a rule somewhere here inthis table?

So I have to re-explain everything tomorrow. And my last teaching thing is Thrusday. I'm observing in the am so I can write my observation report the pm before teaching.

Just 6 more days of class! (That's not including observation days or day of the final.)

Although I did get to remember Amelia Bedilia, that little maid who wore a grey bonnet. How could I have completely forogtten that?

PS: There's this girl in TESL who's going to try and make a living out of screenwriting and already has one mostly written with a friend. How cool is this?

(a) i guessed david duchovny. because his career post xfiles seems to have been a disaster of epic proportions. but angel would work well (though i always did think his head looked kind of weird- something's off there).

(b) though you may not be able to watch Kitchen Confidential, it's based on an autobiography by Anthony Bourdain, so you could read it if you're interested. of course, then you wouldn't get to see xander. :)

(c) i loved amelia bedelia. remember when she made a sponge cake out of bath sponges? and when she patched the screen door with fabric scraps? comedic gold, i say!

(d) thanks for the call last night. :)
