Hi ho, hi ho...
Jul. 1st, 2005 09:10 pmHave just seen American flag on yahoo name after signing out from email. That's new...
Worked quit well today and yesterday, and have completed 2 of 3 (but 2 of 2 possible as of now) observation reports and read 2 chapters (granted they were due last Wed but hey) and am now researching for presentation on Tues re: "The Silent Way" of teaching. Boy, that sounds like fun. (More so when I shorten in to SW and have sudden horrible moments of, "Why is Star Wars characterized by the problem-solving aproach? I thought it was the sabers that defined the fandom.")
My lesson plan for Monday is on hold but will deal with gossip and the whole, "he said that..." sentence formation.
Just one more real class to teach!!! (But 2 peer-teach session.)
Think have fallen in love with the captain from Firefly*, whom I must refer to as Caleb because I don't know his name on F. I caught an ep yesterday and it was one where they had no lifesupport on the ship and he stayed with Serenity while everyone else tried to find some help. A ship comes up and have the teeny little part he needs to not suffocate and die, but the men are bastards and shoot him to get the ship. He kickes 'em off his ship and then proceeds to stumble his bloody way to the engine room. I really liked how the ep juggled time frames, blending past (when the characters first signed up as crew), present ("OMG we have no air left") and future (*gasp* where's that pure-adrenalin shot? *pokes it straight into heart (bringing memories of The Rock, when DoeEyed-Mandolin didn't suck)* *owie*).
* Firefly is a show created by his greatness Joss Whedon (he of Buffy and Angel) which is set in the future (including spaceships and some sort of political thingamabob, like Asimov's evil Galactic Empire or such), but with a certian cowboyishness to it. Anyway, the poor thing didn't make it through one whole season (but then again, this is the channel that cancelled Angel when it was kicking ass) but has an avid fanbase. Apparently, once you see a few you're hooked. The poor actors got temp. jobs on Angel and Buffy playing Jasmine (AtS season 4 big bad), Caleb (southern priest big bad's lackey - wicked man in BtVS season 7 end eps) and Marcus Hamilton (the new liason to the PTB on AtS, season 5). Did I mention Caleb's a pretty boy?
Watched Lost on Wednesday, the White Rabbit ep, about day 6, and damn, no wonder I liked the doc when he was on Party of Five, not that I actually watched that show regularly.
So between Firfly eps on Thursdays, Lost on Wednesdays and recording late-night Angel eps Mon-Thurs, I've got enough TV-juice to get me through the week.
Working now...but so bored and distracted...
