Adventures with Italian Post:

Way back when it was still last year and early December, I went into a card-sending frenzy. Some darling people responded in kind, so from then on I would eye my post box with yearning. Christmas came and went, the New Year came and went, and still I was staring at the little box with puppy eyes. These eyes were not in vain, though, because I'd gotten confirmation that yes, there was mail somewhere in the ether for me.

Then on Thursday of last week I got a slip of paper in the mail from International Post with my address printed on it, a bar code, and a scribbled phone number and a complete lack of explanation. Friday was a holiday so on Saturday I went to the post office to basically ask "What the hell is this, what does it mean, what do I do with this?" because I'd rather do that than call an unknown number. Eventually I talked to a post person and it turned out that since it was international post, they didn't have my package, that instead it was somewhere near the airport, and yeah.

So I did eventually have to call the mysterious number and the guy who answered said he'd be in the area today around noon, which he was, and I finally got

mrscastielftw's package. My reaction to its contents?
