Marshmellow?
Written April 10, 2006

So I was heating up some water for my tea, and I’d put in the milk already ‘cause I’m lazy and anyway, putting in milk after making your tea just results in cold tea. Anyway, I wasn’t exactly watching the pot, so naturally it boiled. The milk foamed up and, when it had cooled down a bit, turned into little globs of marshmellowy-milk.

It was an interesting cup of tea.

They’re still playing Harry Potter (in English, no less), though only in one cinema and only at one (incredibly inconvenient) time (noon, but it takes ages to get there). Nonetheless, watching Harry Potter tomorrow come hell or high water.

Unless I’m late.

Heating-repair-man hasn’t popped by (alas) so will soon trudge off to watch Ice Age 2, responsible adult that I am. (Am not at all pleased that they put in a she-mammoth and weird weasels on crack. I haven’t even seen trailers, but they already give me “Lion King hyena” flashbacks. Not of the good*.)

* Edit: Of the good.

Also, Alan Tudyk was in it again, as “Cholly” or something like. Anyway, the last credited voice. I have no idea who Cholly was.
And I totally knew I knew the voice of Ellie! Just didn’t know it was Queen Latifa, but now I do and it is also good.

Learn with the internet! Wikipedia, which once again explains the internet is explained by the internet in Soviet Russia. Link is about all those “in Soviet Russia” jokes.

My favorite is uncredited on Wiki:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
In Soviet Russia
Poem writes YOU!

This should be a shirt. As should “Some people juggle geese!” (Well, that last one probably is a shirt already, fans being as they are.)

Must I really quote Neil? Yes, I must. Fore lo!, I must share the Neil Gaiman love. He answered a meme last week, and here are two wonders:

6. What has been your most embarrassing moment?
School. It was a long moment, but an embarrassing one.

36. What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
Time. I'd like lots and lot more time. Ten day weeks. Six week months. Twenty month years. Things like that.

Gods, I missed reading Neil’s blog. Apparently, the only way to do so (for me) is get his feed on my friends list. Which I did. So yay.

Note to self: Tell [livejournal.com profile] evadne_noel how much you love her and her writing. Attempt to locate copy of Bizenghast novel, which belongs to M. Alice LeGrow and TokyoPop. Likewise for Thursday Next Book Three.

Coherence…
Written April 11, 2006

…is what I’m going for.

*doorbell* *Sickle refuses to show signs of habitation*

Taking out summer clothes, all frilly dresses and flowly skirts and I hate it.

I haven’t talked to anyone in ages. Unless you want to count mom just now, but that wasn’t so much talking as causing me a painful little breakdown. Well, okay, no.

Not little.

What have I done today? Translated two emails, ran like the devil to the cinema only to see that they fucking cancelled Potter. Bought ticket for Narnia (again), which started at the same time. Was the only one in the theatre. Apparently, there have to be -1 tickets sold five minutes before the showing to cancel a movie. ‘Cause 0 tickets sold five minutes prior is a-ok.

Or they hate me. Or the universe hates me. Or something equally awful.

*gives universe the finger*

Telling ma I don’t want to be here results in preposterous suggestions involving the taking up of backpacks and gittin’. Right. ‘Cause I could walk over to Yugoslavia or something and live happily ever after there. Or swim across the Atlantic and be a hard-core wet-back immigrant.

Also, the whole “the sacrifices we made for you”. (The lowest of the low punches a parent can possibly give a child when talking about *necessary* things, and not, say, a pony.) Thanks, ma’, cause that really helps lots right now. I feel so much better. That muffled silence on the other end? That’s me not listening to you.

It’s a little under a year since I’ve graduated. I have done nothing at all. I am no closer to doing something than I was a year ago— Actually, last year I was still waiting for responses to applications, so I’m technically further away from doing shit that I was last year.

Y’know, I once had a plan. Sure, a non-doable plan (somewhat unbeknownst to me) but a plan nonetheless. Was gonna go to the UK, get a flat and a cat, study a Masters.

Now I am planless.

I’m also on the wrong fucking continent.

*is incredibly pissed and miserable beyond typing*

Stopped crying, though, which is nice.

Ever tried finding some item and, instead of wondering which drawer it’s in, having to remember which continent it’s on? Or saying, “well, back last summer it was in my flat there then I moved it to the house there then…did I pack it? Throw it away? Maybe I put it in the attic?”

*some sort of exasperated tired sigh*

Words cannot express how much I love listening to Alan Tudyk and Jewel Straites do commentaries for Firefly. Most of the time they’re just giggling and joking around but they do so adorably, and I giggle with them.

Oh, and incredibly pissed that French teacher made no (i.e. 0) comment on the subject of my essays. Oh come on, one was praising the glories of the internet for budding writers (complete with baby links) and one other was about my nationality. Did she not click the paper link?!?

On a completely random note to close this entry (I’ve spent the afternoon in bed watching Firefly and reading fics, which can’t be a good sign) let me share something. Two great irrational fears which will probably come to pass, universe treating me as it is, are that I’ll find a corpse in the bathtub and have a shark nibble at my soft exposed underbelly. Both things make me shudder like no man’s business.

Some people fear zombies. Zombies? Pshaw. Sharks swimming up under you out from the deep dark depths and sunken Rhylyah, aiming straight at your bellybutton, that’s the ticket.

PS: Here’s the soundtrack of my last few days: Rayne soundtrack There’s some excellent songs there, like “Sugar, we’re going down”, “Tear you apart” and various classic like “Mad world” or “Lullaby” that I’d forgotten all about. (Unfortunately, there’s a whole bunch of songs that either didn’t download right or hate me; either way, they won’t play, so I might have to haunt uTorrent. Right after I figure out how to correctly download Eddie Izzard files, just to see what everyone is gushing about.)
