Sickle Has A Request: So I finally read through The Last Wild Angel - that story that in a fit of insanity I've decided to try and send to a magazine - enough to edit it a little and put it in manuscript format. However, I have some editorial questions of the "What should I dooooo?" and "Is this okay? Tell me it's okay!" variety. So does anyone care to beta? Please?

Sickle Writes (And Has Another Sort-Of Request): Day before yesterday - because I've been lax in posting - I finally finished typing out the notes I'd made for Time for Something Biblical, listing all the characters', set and plot details. It's on sickle_stories, but flocked, which y'all know I never do on bending_sickle, because I'm apparently more paranoid about my half-formed creative ideas being open to the world than I am about my life.

I went to sleep quite late because I just can't come up with a title for the sequel. I know it's ridiculous, because I haven't even started writing it and I barely know what's going to happen, but I'm obsessed with finding the right title. Time for Something Biblical was such a perfect title, what with the apocalypse and the angel and all. Now I'm scouring the internet and quotes and books for anything that'll work, preferrably starting of with "Time For", and, if I want to be really picky, a Muse lyric - not because I like Muse, because I don't overmuch, but because I did the same with TFSB and its chapter titles and argh.

The titles I've got listed - where the one I most like is the first one - include:

Random thought: I do really weird fanmixes. I've never done a proper, actually-related-to-fandom fanmix. The best I could do on that front is making a fanmix of all the songs I want to make into fanvids, but that's a bit odd, even for me. My mixes are all about long-distance relationships and obsessive compulsive disorder and chronic homesickness and gods know I might end up doing a mix on fish one of these days. I've already got two three songs in mind, and I didn't even have to think hard: Dawn of BtVS's "Anchovies" song, Monty Python's "Slapping Fish" song, and "It's a Long Way from Amphioxus". Crazy little Sickle.

Sickle SMASH: *raging flail, see below* So now Hispanics are the only ones with an ethinicity? Why isn't there an American Indian/Alaska Native (and man, that label totally doesn't jibe with the definition, because you're obviously not saying "American" in the dual continental sense or you wouldn't have Alaska) ethnicity for the clause "who maintains tribal affiliation or community attachment", because that last part has nothing to do with race.

At least here, unlike other organizations (with their parenthetical "Not Hispanic or Latino" clauses to all their ethnicity/race definitions but on), they realize that you can have an ethnicity and a race. For you, I will let myself be called Hispanic. (But oh, it grates.)

I've solemnly sworn to do Nano again this year - although I forsee great failing - and a sequel seems to be the best choice, seeing as I've got some scenes that just keep popping up. You should definitely do Nano this year! We can cheer each other on.

I like it too! But I think it's going to have to be a short story or something, because there are no wolves expected in the story, neither actual, were-, or metaphorical ones in sheep's clothing. Of course, this being a Nano thing, there may be flying purple mowhaw-sporting wolves for all I know. Desperate times, man... Also, wee, TFSB sequel! I like Time to Roam and Time is Running Out best from the Time column, but if I had to choose it would be Seconds to Draw, which is my definite favourite, closely followed by Company Doesn't Mean Safety, A Future Turn and - *grins* - Who's Returned From the Dead. And now I'm all conflicted over the title! Argh! Alright, so I have a soft spot for Seconds to Draw (puns, I like) but I'm being all obsessive-compulsive or perfectionist or something about the titles both starting of with Time.

So... Maybe I'll use my own titles for the chapters - I've got a massive list of good ones - and so I can sneak in some of the ones in the list. ...I like this idea.

As for the actual title itself, argh again. It's hard because I don't know the theme of the story (although it'll end with Time to Roam stuff). Time is Running Out is good, and I've got a soft spot for Time We Saw a Miracle (because it echoes the whole Biblical bit and - again, obsessive much? - is from the same Muse song - and I swear I do not have a Muse obsession). So I think those are the final two contenders.
