First off, Livejournal is being a cold unresponsive little bitch today. Is it me, baby? We used to be so good together. Why aren't you loading your pages like you used to?

Secondly, my neighbour is playing really loud techno. Thankfully, it's not the same song over and over again (which he's done). Unfortunately, it's been going on for some two hours now and is really annoying. My roommate and I have this theory - based on totally judging people by their appearance and small bits of behaviour as espied from the balcony** - that he likes to celebrate the purchase of certain non-medicinal drugs by trancing out to techno, so we basically only get the noise when he's gotten lucky and has money. Omg plz be shutting up now.

Thirdly, the one thing that I'd been meaning to post about for days, I forget to post about when next I post. The fail, it burns. The thing I meant to blog about? The Jus In Bello Convention.

Why? Because I didn't attend. The Con. For Show. In Rome. When I was there. This upsets me. Photos of Jensen at the Colliseo? Fuck me! I could've walked to the bloody Colliseo! Misha went to Ostia Antica? We bloody well went there! (Well, no, but we went next door, basically, because we'd arrived too late to really make a day of Ostia Antica.) Fuck! I just never did the math well enough to realize that it would have been possible - same place, same time - because those things' tickets are supposedly bloody expensive and need to be bought well in advance. Nevermind the folks on dean_sam selling tickets last minute. Gold platter, guys! The opportunity was handed to me on a gold freaking platter and I never even turned around to look! Argh!

Are you even surprised anymore? *rolls eyes at Kripke* I'm starting to feel like they're just keep recycling every conflict there ever was since S1. I must admit I'm mildly annoyed with the writers at the moment :/ Although Castiel keeps getting more and more awesome. I found a liquor store. - And? I drank it. *grins*

The next episode is the 100th one, right? Someone promised epic epicness. I half hope that Dean will say yes - just to see Jensen nail it, not because it would mean a particularly desirable turn of events. I.e.: fucking horrible turn of events, but nonetheless! Jensen as Michael would be SO GOOD. :D

Honestly, after the rather meh episodes we had at the beginning, I am reeling a bit from the zoom zoom back into the whole "Plot and Angst!" part of SPN.

I've read some complaints - to put it nicely - about Sam (yea, again) and his "But what about meeee?!?" speech to Dean and I'm flailing a bit because yeah, okay, maybe laying on the "I can't do this without you" guilt may not have been the way to go, but Sam was totally working the "We're a team! A family! Soul mates! Don't lose faith now!" angle of it, so I can't get mad at him for angsting at Dean.

As for Dean... Daminit man! My heart! Stop doing things to it! And I rather liked him going off to see Woman with Boy because the way I see it, it wasn't that Dean was hopelessly in love with her and so on, but that he saw the lost potential he had with her, that he could have had a family with her if he hadn't been, well, himself. So he's hooked on her and the boy because of what he can never have. (Which makes me flail and point angrily at him, because this is what Sam wanted too and Dean never understood. Jerk.)

Jensen as Michael would a) rock epically, b) mean no chance of young!John!Michael, which is sad, c) leave us with no Dean for an extended period of time, which is also sad.

Also, I want a whole episode of snarky drunk Cas. ♥ That is all (as if this were comment were brief, right?).

Ok, I'm not entirely done here...

One review said Sam was being selfish with his "I can't do this without you," because he's always done whatever he wanted but the one second Dean's all, "Peace out, y'all", Sam apparently flips out and wants Dean to do things for him. Which I disagree with, because Dean's played the "I have no one else but you" card so much that Sam's allowed to play it too. Hell, it's the bloody Winchester card, they've all played it.

...it's your fault I'm feeling so protective of Sam, by the way.

... how does Sam want Dean to do things for him? Isn't it much more in Dean's interest, actually, to not say yes? We've seen what Michael does to his vessels, haven't we? It would absolutely crush, Sam, naturally, but it's not like he's all "I don't care what you want! Do this for me, now!" (Now I'm putting fake conversations in my comments, too. Uh oh. ;P We're definitely spending much too much time together talking to each other.)

Also, if we were to apply this "logic", how exactly is Dean's "Stop creeping about and drinking demon blood!" not Dean asking Sam to do things for him?

It's your fault in that you made me care more about Sam. I mean, I liked him and all, but you've suddenly made me go, "Oh Sammykins! Darling! Don't let the mean people hurt your feelings."

Well, there's always the catch that Michael might be nice and not fry Dean's ass after using him as a vessel, like he did with Young!John... But still, Sam knows Dean doesn't want to hand over the reigns to his life and body to an angel (or as Dean puts it, a dick) and is therefore being the damn rock of their Team Free Will.

Dean could totally have been more supportive of Sam and his demon addiction. He was, actually, rather a jerk about it. "Omg, you sick bastard! What are you doing? You crazy fool! Stop right now! What? Saving innocent people, exocising demons, maybe stopping the last seal being opened? Lalalala I'm not listening."

I rather don't think Michael will care greatly what happens to Dean after he discards him. Sure, he may restore him afterwards, but Michael is pretty much an apathetic bastard who couldn't give two shits what happens to the earth and 6 billion of people, much less Dean who is merely the means to an end.

I totally agree that Sam is currently being the rock of their Team Free Will (and I am kind of amused and heart-warmed by the fact that Dean and Sam seem to be taking turns at it. Cas, you're up next!)

Apropos demon blood: has anyone noticed Sam's progress in that matter, anyway? They've been killing a bunch of demons last episode and Sam hasn't even bat an eye regarding all the tasty demon blood around him. No one has noticed, have they?

What I want to know about Sam and the demon blood is why did his blood freakin' burn when he did the anti-angel spell in The Song Remains the Same (I think). I mean, Cas did say, Consuming the amount of blood it would take to kill Lilith would change your brother forever; most likely he would become the next creature you would feel compelled to kill. I mean, if the YED hadn't been right when he said How do you know that what you brought back was a hundred percent, pure, Sam? So as tired as I was with the on-again-off-again treatment of Sam's addiction, I really want them to deal with Sam "the Abomination" Winchester.

*gasp* Ok, let's see if I can give this a second try and be all coherent.

Show's been making this huge deal over Sam having demon blood in him. First, it was YED's blood, which made him psychic, but with YED's death that power seems to have gone. However, there was still the big "Omg, flail!" that Sam had demon blood in him, making him Different and possiby Evil.

Then there was Ruby's blood, which gave Sam more or different psychic powers. The more blood he got in him, the stronger he was (and also the more different and evil).

So when he was drinking blood to kill Lilith, the amount of power he needed to kill her meant he had to drink a lot of blood which meant he got to be extra evil.

Show's been going on about how Sam can detox from the demon blood, but back whenit was just YED's blood in him, Sam went on about how he had demon blood in him and could never get it out. So that's a no on the detox. Then after Sam sucked Ruby dry (minds out of the gutter!), Castiel believed that that amount of blood and power and the changes they would do to Sam couldn't be gotten rid of with detox. (See above comment's quote.)

So we have two cases where it says that detoxing wouldn't do anything about the demon blood in Sam - it would just stop the cravings. Which means that Sam is Different, at blood-level. Add to that the "Sam was dead then brought back to life and maybe he wasn't brought back a-ok" doubt, and we have a seriously Different (possibly Evil) Sam.

And we see this when Sam does the anit-angel spell with his blood. When Sam does it, the blood burns (http://www.supernaturalfansonline.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=309&pid=46058) (hellfire, anyone?), but when Dean (http://www.screencaps.org/SciFi/Supernatural/Season-5/Episode-1/Supernatural-S5-E1-245.jpg) or Cas (http://www.supernaturalfansonline.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=160&pid=15673) do it, it doesn't.

So something is different about Sam and it's tied to his blood. Which is why Cas calls him an abomination. And I want to know more about what it is that makes Sam different, and how.

Who will Sam angst at if not Dean? They're each others sole support system, for God's sake, and if one of them falls down, the other one inevitably will follow. So I find it more than understandable that Sam is cracking also, when Dean is so obviously pondering saying yes and pretty much being all "Fuck it all! I'm outta here, bitches!"

About Woman With Boy and Said Boy – we've already seen in Dream A Little Dream Of Me that the things Dean longs and hopes for in the deepest of his subconscious are exactly the same as Sam’s. I don't quite understand how people are always overlooking that every single fucking time when accusing the Evil Boy King. The only difference between Sam and Dean is that Sam actually was aware enough to be able to recognize these feelings, whereas Dean never could allow himself to, or maybe thought he couldn’t allow himself to. Dammit, Sam wanted to be a lawyer! What do lawyers do? Help innocent people. Kick the criminals’ asses. Sound familiar, fandom? No? Dean does the fucking exact same thing, merely on a different level, dammit! I’m not sure that even Dean is aware of that parallelism, though – it has never been acknowledged, anyway – so I’m not surprised that many people in fandom haven’t either, thus exploding into random bouts of Sam, the bastard! Strip him and flay him alive! (Which sounds vaguely kinky, but this is for another time, I believe.)

Also, how is it so far-fetched that Sam would want to get out of their situation at that time, in his youth? Sure, John and Sam fought all the time, all right, but I still believe they also loved each other very much, to a fault, which we know is rather a family trait that every Winchester has shared or shares. There was more to that than that, I believe. The lack of stability, exempli gratia. Always being on the run, in danger; never staying at a place long enough to make one decent acquaintance, much less friend; having to hunt things, kill things, face things so few can even imagine; having to patch up wounds in motel rooms, pace in hospitals, or perhaps even wonder whether one soon might be the only Winchester left. How did Sam and Dean even come out of that as mentally sound adults? I mean, seriously – before the whole ordeal with the YED and, later on, Dean’s deal, they were doing pretty much okay, weren’t they? It’s an honest to God miracle one of them hasn’t just snapped in their youth, including the frothing mouth and a taste of SAW IV.

So, Sam’s departure to Stanford? Seems a very understandable reaction to me, even a ridiculously minor one, and one that had to have been building for years. No way Dean, even John, wouldn't have seen it coming. How could anyone not understand Sam? Seriously. When at times I get so fucking annoyed with my parents that I want nothing more than to get away from them for a good whole while – and I do believe many young people feel that way, a lot of the time – when that little (compared to Dean and Sam) is enough to get us completely worked up, how – how – could anyone not sympathise with Sam?!

DO NOT GET IT.
