I'm feeling incredibly sleepy even though it's barely the middle of the day and I'm really only posting because I've done a shitload of Links of the Day that need to get out there. I've still got links saved from when I went to Spain last month and from the December-January holiday.
I got back Wednesday from Rome and just haven't felt up to posting until now. Well, I still don't feel up to posting, what with the headachey exhausted sleepyness and the lack of anything interesting to report. I could talk about the ski or Rome and post photos, but feh, I's tired.
What I've been doing lately, since I've been back, is mainly trying to find places or people who'll buy my crap. I've put up some ads on the internet and walked around looking for second-hand shops. I'm going to drag my ass over to a second-hand bookshop in a few to convince them to take a few books off my hands.
I've also been fake-smiling a lot at people who come in to view my room because they might want to rent it. I hate showing my room to strangers, having them in my room and looking. I just get very "Grr, argh! My territory!" but in a quiet, invisible way which makes no one uncomfortable but myself.
In other news, I've caught up on Castle, which was awesome. It also had Heroes' Chandra Suresh guest starring, and I've just now watched the latest Human Target, which also had Chandra Suresh guest starring and Alastair from Supernatural with an Irish accent (ftw!), so I've been flailing around and flapping my fannish arms like a penguin sliding down an iceberg. Also, Lost had Desmond on this week and that made it awesome.
I've also been thinking about TFSB and jotting down character notes and thinking of scenes but I haven't actually written anything because I have Teh Lame. To say nothing of the other half-written things I carry around with me.
I've not been looking for jobs. Le Suck.

Date: 2010-04-09 02:46 pm (UTC)Also, it must be painful giving up your stuff :/ Especially books! But, ugh, I imagine strange, random people looking at my room would make me want to run away screaming. (Or, alternatively, make them run away screaming, which is definitely the better option of the two.) *offers you hugs and cookies* Poor Sickle. :(
*wraps you into a fluffy blanket* *pushes a cup of camomile tea into your hands* *huggles you to sleep* ♥
Wee, my father fixed the broken PSU at work, which results in one happy Bel! :)

Date: 2010-04-09 06:11 pm (UTC)Hopefully I won't have to give up too much stuff. The books I'm selling - poor babies - are one I will never ever reread because I didn't like them at all and therefore only feel moderately terrible about getting rid of them. (I'm one of those people who takes extra special care of books and cringes when people crack their spines or write in them, desperate to cry out, "Don't! You're hurting the book! It has feelings too!") But I've always hated the "Look! This is my room, but it could be yours! Please, look closely at everything!" (I don't know why I can't type without putting in fake conversations. Sorry.)
*snuggles up to you*

Date: 2010-04-10 12:13 pm (UTC)I love you for being all "Don't hurt the books!" I tend to pimp out a lot of my books to several friends of mine, but not only are they atrociously slow readers, no, they tend to mistreat the books, too! I can work myself up into a monologue of Housian/Holmesian proportions, indeed! Every book abuser gets to feel my wrath! >:D
Don't apologize, I love your for putting in fake conversations in comments! :)

Date: 2010-04-10 01:55 pm (UTC)And I'll never discourage you from Nano! Or tell you that you suck! The whole point of Nano is trying, dude, so even if it's not a novel at least you've got something. Hey, with some trimming you could probably get a few shot stories out of the unfinished Nano... So no, it wasn't a waste of time or an exercise in failage. You da man! Woman! Write person!
