Sickle's Progress:

Activity: Walked! *\o/*
Food: Fruit was had! \o/
Sociality: Text from Willy, who's back in the country, so yay, but busy, so I can't see her and then I leave the country, so feh.
Emotional Health: Down the toilet, yay. I seem to have two modes these days: brain-dead or crying-mess. Please just feed me to the sharks already.
Physical Health: OMFG what the fuck happened to my face?!?
Academics: See below. Tomorrow will be submitting-manuscript-day, yays.
Job Hunting: Fail, unless I do something now.

Still working on the manuscript for the article. I just got comments back from a co-author, and it breaks my heart to read them even though I completely agree with them. (Frankly, though, anything could break my heart right now, it's so cracked.) Words like meaningless and rubbish leave me going, "Yes! By gods, yes! That paragraph is shite! There's nothing to say!" and statements like the paper says nothing interesting or novel and at this stage I do not see a publishable story in this paper leave me likewise going, "Yes! I know! Why am I even writing this anyway?" And yet just reading that with my poor heart - that's just so tired of this article, just wants it to be over with, is sitting wondering why it even tried if all it can deliver is such pointless crap - broke it and left it crying in a crumpled heap.

I have been neglecting you horribly, haven't I? I'm sorry that you've been having such a hard time as of lately :(

And oh noes, I DO NOT AGREE with co-author who is dissing you. What an awful thing to say! (I mean, I will readily admit that the things I produce are horrible [and rubbish], but it doesn't mean that I wouldn't be crying myself silly if someone actually told me. And I pretty sure that your paper is a million times better and more important than my Nano, and it hurts me to think that all your efforts are being brushed off with 'rubbish.' Gah.)

Please, don't give up just yet!

You're fantastic!

I've missed you! *glomps violently* Never leave! *clings*

But it is rubbish. I think what really hit me badly was the whole, "You might as well not have written this, it's pointless." I mean, I never though it was particularly novel or whatever, but, gah. At least my supervisor's all, "Send it it! This is awesome!"

You're fantastic! ♥ How's life treating you, you brilliant pianist you?

You listen to your supervisor, young lady. I assume it's someone who's got some experience already? They're bound to have read dozens of papers, no? I bet your supervisor has long since realized how smart your are, how much potential you have got. Look at how much you've done. You've spent so much time writing this paper (and I bet you've been planning it out much longer than I've had the pleasure to be around you), you can't let some insensitive prick hold you back now. Show him.

*glomps back* *clings also* *loves*

Life is not being very nice. Got my report card for the semester. Cried. It was not pretty, it wasn't. But there's only four hours of school tomorrow (and piano lesson, but that doesn't count) and then I'm free until Wednesday! Yay! And do you reckon we could fit some marathon movie watching between Friday and then? I missed you terribly.

Yeah...my supervisor is actually so busy I doubt he reads my work thoroughly (or at all). And I just slapped this sucker together from rejected bits of my thesis and stuck on a discussion. *shakes self* But it's not crap! Or if it is, the goddamn magazine can tell me so in a rejection letter. Yes.

Aw! No crying! You're a smart cookie! And physics, you may recall, is lying dead in a dark alley, thanks to me, so it can't hurt you :)

!!! Movie marathon ftw! I'm flying to Spain Tuesday 16, but before that, I'm all yours *eyebrow waggle* Just say when! Also, the version of Watchmen - because we're watching that, right? - is the "ultimate cut" version, which just means you'll have to be a bit patient with me as I skip past the extra (and yet boring) bits.

*smothers you with hugs* *has also missed you liek woah zomg*

I meant to say that the version of Watchmen that I have is that version, not that you should get it. My typing fail, let me show you it.

Oh, also? There's this producer Igor Matvienko, basically the Jay-Z of Russia. When he first started composing, his piano teacher told him that he was completely hopeless, wasn't one for music and had better stop this insanity right away. And look at him now! He's famous, not to mention ridiculously rich, has written the most famous pop songs of Russia, and half the country out-right worships him.

*nudges*

Tell the co-author to go suck it. You rock.
