There's no point saying this again.*
Feb. 8th, 2008 12:09 pmAh, there's nothing quite like waking up to an apathy cocktail shaken with a dash of terror. I have a shitload of articles but no idea what to do with them. I don't think they quite answer the whole "factors explaining changes in dispersal". Thus the terror: I don't know what I'm doing or where this is going. It's noon, and guess who's just opened yet another scholar.google?
In other news, Ashes to Ashes, sequel to Life on Mars, premiered in the UK and apparently, it was awesome, lack of John Simm regardless. There's always the Guv'. (Check out
45eugenia's squee.)
ETA: Here, watch Terminus:
After inadvertently offending a strange entity that accosts him on his way to work, a 1970s businessman quickly finds himself in the midst if a bizarre predicament.
What follows is a rapid descent into madness, a journey both eerie and darkly humorous. The exact nature of the businessman's tormentor is purposefully ambiguous, lending itself to a variety of interpretations.
Is "Terminus" a surreal critique of human alienation in the modern urban environment? or is the protagonist's struggle an internal one, his mysterious stalker a manifestation of his repressed subconscious mind?
Either way, "Terminus"'s innovative visual effects and distinctively vintage atmosphere make it a highly engrossing experience.
Am I hallucinating or is that a Montreal metro? It is, isn't it? Excuse me, there's something in my eye...
ETA2: God help me, but I miss Montreal.

zombieslash posts a poll to establish just what this "zombie" thing is.

fandomsecrets proposes a screened-comment-poll for Valentines: "What one fictional character (of any gender) would you most want to spend your Valentine's Day with? The hot one? The nice one? The one who could take you to the most exciting fictional world? The one that would make all your friends jealous? The one that would rip your head off and spit on your body because you're... into that? There are a ton of possible reasons, don't feel like you have to pick certain characters or fandoms just because they're popular!" Honestly? I can't decide. (If this were just about sex, I'd have my choices narrowed down, but it's not.)
