Still internetless, and procrastinating - rather than working on my presentation for next week - by watching YouTube videos like the one on [livejournal.com profile] greygirlbeast's post about author's actually *gasp* demanding to get paid for their work or the one on [livejournal.com profile] henrygalelovers showing Michael Emerson's Emmy-winning part on The Practice.

Am tired due to a most exciting weekend involving an Asian Corruption Party (i.e. a goodbye-party to the Asian exchange students and the Asian-studies Dutch students going abroad), which was really a picknick and where I met lots of cool folk and drank gin and tonics, followed by a swing round to the bar Odessa with the whole picknick group and then at 4 am we went back to the picknick, so I didn't get to bed till 5:30 am. Saturday Elisa and I went to te Burcht (old fort thingy) and soaked up some sun and chatted, then Ghost Whisperer and Medium. (Is Medium's husband just the greatest TV-representation of a husband ever?)

Ok, gotta scoot.

ETA: Discussions with semi-drunk people are amusing**, and it's amazing the awesome-points that a little bit of knowledge will get you. For example, I spouted off a few words in Mandarin (thank you, Firefly) and went on about how Budhism isn't technically a religion because you have to figure It all by yourself.

Also, I've been quoted on [livejournal.com profile] ljdq again! (I was quoted last week.) I'm all a-squee.

Things (Within the Realm of Possibility) Sickle Would Like To Do:
- Take up the piano again. Seriously, I've been acheing to play again. Even typing get's me all, "Aw, flying fingers!"
- Self-study Mandarin and Middle Egyptian (i.e. hieroglyphs) and spruce up that German.
- Learn to knit. (Or, well, learn how to knit stuff. The actual knitting, I can do.)
- Take some kick-boxing or free-lance combat thing class.
- Create and write all those fanvid and fanfic ideas.

* [livejournal.com profile] nepenut's ibid [livejournal.com profile] henrygalelovers post.
** "Every word has to have an opposite! What's the opposite of evolution?"
"What, like creationism? Or stagnation?"
"No, those aren't opposites. You don't know what it means."
"Well, if evolution is all about adaptation -"
"No, not the opposites of variation or adaptation, but evolution."
"Um, but variation and adaptation are evolution, they're the very definition of it."
"No, no no nonono, they're different words. What's evolution anyway, there's no proof-"
"We-ell, there's this island that scientists took some lizards too, then had to pull out in a hurry, and years later they go back and their digestive systems were all different."
"That's not evolution, that's adaptation."
" *head!desk* "

Guess who's the drunk and who's yours truly. (If the above argument doesn't make sense, that's because I either can't remember it correctly, or it doesn't make sense. Probably both.)
