Alright folks, the frustration has to be shared. Now, I finally managed to get my hands on Shivaree's song The Snake. Not, of course, by dominating the iPod, because the only way to get songs off it is to use EphPod (or similar), and my EphPod won't work. (Well, it could, but the solution involves erasing my entire iPod library, which isn't really a solution at all.)

So, we got the song, we got the clips. Happy?

Hell no. The song's in MPEG4 format, which isn't compatible with Window Movie Maker. Gargh, says I. And then I promptly download 2 covnerter programs, one after the other, with less that favourable results. The first one does nothing by dangle carrots at me, because, as it's the trial version, it only deigns convert 30% of a file. WHY?!? And the second program just won't open the song at all, so I don't know if it can convert or not. (And never will, 'cause it's just gone out the window.)

This is frustrating, because I wanted to try and make a fanvid out of this. It was going to be pretty short and straightforward vid, just something to start with.

But no! The universe toys with me yet again. *grumble*

I couldn't have picked a more known song, eh? Nooo. Obscure song by semi-obscure band. *flail* I'm all googled out (and it's 2 am).

The plan for the vid was to show Maya's stupid mistake of taking Sylar in.

A tender hearted woman
Found a poor half-frozen snake
His pretty colored skin
Had been all frosted with the dew
"Poor thing" she cried, "I'll take you in
Aand I'll take care of you."

This would've been all about the dusty road and dusty Sylar and silly, silly oblivious Maya.

The chorus would've been all about secretly evil manipulative Sylar, including the Finger O' Death, the picnic and the master puppetry of Maya. Maybe even just general stock footage of Sylar-pwnage.

Well she stroked his pretty skin again
And kissed him really tight,
Instead of saying thanks,
the snake gave her a vicious bite.

Said that reptile with a grin.
"You knew darn well I was a snake before you took me in."

This would've been the Maya lurv, the death of Alejandro, the "y halo thar Dr Suresh" and the magnificent eyeroll of dooom.

*gurgles* I recruited a friend of mine who has limewire to see if she could find that song, and apparently there are a bunch by Shivaree- there was even one called "Snake Eyes", but none called "The Snake"...I then tried to see if Google would bear any fruit, but alas, it is not to be. 'Tis indeed a hard song to find!

Hm... you know, my friend and I listened to that song and the lyrics really did not match up (and there's no mention of a snake anywhere). I have a feeling someone named it the wrong thing by mistake Oo Boo!
