This is - you guessed it - another post where I say nill. Or, rather, nothing of import.

Actually, today wasn't that bad a day. We went to the Basilica Papale di San Paolo fuori le Mura (and yes, the names are going to be in Italian: deal with it) for Palm Sunday Mass. Not because either my parents or myself are particularly religious, but because hey, it's a big special day and there was bound to be a big special ceremony.

Well, there was incense. And a forty minute singing stint (in the world's most monotone way) of the Passion of Christ. Oy. And the Bishop was English, which was strange, but his talk was nice. After the mass we walked around the church, then went to buy Italian pastries (including cannoli, which are deliscious) before scampering off home for lamb, because we Christians like to eat our God any way we can (that is, metaphorically and, if you believe the transfiguration, literally). Then there was reading and napping.

Yesterday we spent the whole day out in the street, starting off with the Caravaggio exposition that's been in the news. Then there was walking, trying to find a place to have lunch that dad had been to, then a quarrel because he couldn't find it, ending up in him storming off and mom and I having lunch at the same place we've been to twice before (i.e. the only place we've ever gone out to eat). Then we wandered the streets making time for a church concert at seven-thirty that mysteriously never took place.

In other news, I've got the FAO application almost done - except for the cover letter - and am constantly thinking about, or trying not to think about, all the shit I have to do in Leiden (like things I have to pack, sell, put an ad in for, etc.). Day 'fore yesterday I kinda freaked out and started looking for PhDs, internships and jobs absolutely anywhere because I cannot live here and remain sane or emotionally viable.

In better news, I watched Supernatural's latest and, while the story left a lot to be desired, it was heartwarming to see the boys. There's at least something nice yet.
