"Whoopeee," said Crowley. "Where have you been?"
Today has been a really shit-tastic day. I went to Vilanova i la Geltru (next-door town) to check out about my International European Health Card and how to cancel my mobile (cell) phone.
It was raining and I was in flip-flops which have repeatedly tried to kill me by the pool. Needless to say, on the pedestrian stretches, I had to waddle very carefully.
About the Health Card: It's worth fuck-all and the plastic it's printed on, because I'm no longer working. Just how amazingly fantastic that is, I cannot say. And no, they don't support Master's students either.
This I learn the day after contracting insurance that doesn't include health coverage. I've emailed the company explaining the mess. *crosses fingers*
About the phone: I didn't know where the office was, and let me tell you, finding a store in a town you don't know is a bit tough. Eventually, though, I managed to find it. Pretty pointless, though, seeing as the girls workign there have no idea about anything. Everything I want to know or do is via-phone-assistance only. Why the flying fuckaroos do they have an office?
After managing to not fall a dozen times, I slipped when crossing at a pedestrian crossing thingy. The white lines were uber-shiny and reflective and new (translation: slippery as hell). End result? One sad little joint of a toes on my right foot went all the way back. It's not supposed to bend that way, and boy, does it feel like it.
My toe's a disturbing shade of purple and blue, twice its usual size and incredibly stiff and sore in the sense that the blood pumping through it hurts. (Which of course means that later in the evening, after numbing it for the third time with ice, I accidently whack the toe with the kitchen door. There very nearly were tears.)
I'm going to head off to the clinic tomorrow, see if they can do anything.
