I look a bit different but it's me.*

I spoke with Josie today! Oh dear, it'd been such a long time since we'd spoken or writen or anything... Not that is was awkward or anything. But it always seemed to me that "Jo and I on the phone" didn't quite work so well as "Jo and I face-to-face". Of course, that just might be because I'm incoherent.

No, seriously. )

I would tell you all about the new Fox show featuring the lovely Nathan Fillion, but, well... You can hear it from [livejournal.com profile] frodolyn:

"Bad news, Fox has done it again and pulled the plug on Drive. You would thing that Fox would learn from its mistakes, however. Not so much."

Instead, allow me to squee about Heroes by posting squeeful things,Read more... )

David Tennant's Dr Who Video Diary. (PS: He's cute and Scottish. Need a woman ask for more? Well, sure, throw in good hair while you're at it...)

[livejournal.com profile] frodolyn posts a fanmix for Wash/Zoe called "Grief to Grace". It has absolutely gorgeous music, and the downloads are still valid. Go download now!
In related news, I mentioned [livejournal.com profile] acaciaonnastik Eden fanmix (outdated) for Hero's. She also brought my attention to the fact that Hiro's father is played by George Takei. Remember this? (Also, here's an interview, 'cause.

Snakes on a Plane on YouTube. And the film hasn't even been released yet!

Edit: Bored. Don't want to write fics. Have read lots of quotes. Hothothot in here. Added a bio to user info. Don't think sleep will be easy.

Here, have a quote:

"Where's your spirit of adventure, hm?"
"It died a slow and painful death when those bats came out of the rafters."

Ian and the Doctor, in "The Chase", Dr. Who

Further Edit: CRossetti poems galore.

Further-er Edit: Nathan Interview, Private Ryan scene and Caleb on Buffy Season 7.

This music vid of Caleb made me wonder what it'd be like to write a fic from the villain's pov, with all the self-righteousness, shifting of what we knew and warping of the "hero". Would be really interesting, especially using Caleb and also quite hard to write

Two Guys and a Girl (why oh why haven't I ever watched this show?): Happy Dance Trouble with Proposing, almost-slash, Without Dialogue, the Just Out of Bed look.

Diary of Ja(y)ne.

Gavin Degraw's song I Don't Want to Be. Note to self: the slow-mo of the "Pain is scary" scene certainly offers a different reading to Jayne and Mal. ;)

Why yes, I am bored and avoiding the strenous horrors of packing and making dinner, how observant of you.

Am now watching an entire ep of TGaaG on YouTube. *wee* Also, so getting something to eat.

Stuff!

[livejournal.com profile] b_phil has now solved my second "what the hell was that movie I vaguely recall from my childhood" problem. It's The Stuff, not, as I once tried, The Thing.*

Back to writing a job description in German. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find technical words for printing machine parts in German? Frellin' ruttin' hard.

I'll leave you all with an article about the future Stardust movie and *crosses fingers* the renewed possibility of a Good Omens movie**. Or maybe Neil's last movie-project, Beowolf is more your thing.

In other news, a River vid which rocks my socks.

Here are some Chinese/Pinyin-related websites I found yesterday this wee morning whilst researching for Insomnia:

http://www.pinyin.info/readings/texts/chinese_adjectives.html
http://www.chinese-lessons.com/mandarin/vocabVerbs.htm
http://www.pinyin.info/unicode/marks3.html

I also found out random yet interesting facts. )

Oh god NO!

Cinema du Parc closes. Not that, y'know, I was able to go there anyway, but still, it's the end of an era.

And how wierd is this: thanks to the song-list swapping on [livejournal.com profile] rayne_shippers, I know who She Wants Revenge is. I am also very far away from Montreal at the mo' and so coudn't go personally to the offices even if I did win a free ticket to the concert.

Edit: But how can I stay upset when Nathan's being so adorable at the Flanvention with the mariage proposal (not his)?

And yes, there's the fan-film George Lucas in Love but really, nothing beats Nathe.

*smiles*

And Sean's such a hand-waver. Though he takes the impromptu kiss quite well.

And...more Nathan. Shirtless. Being all adorable.

There's also Mal's Song to listen to.

Or try downloading the music from Firefly. I might just have to go to the shower and then bed. But, seeing as how I've figured out how not to have bed-hair, I'm not too worried about it being in the am and my hair not being washed still.

Ok, incoherence. A sure lack of heat and sleepiness.

Eddy's in the space-time continuum

Have been playing the Hitchiker's Guide game again. Managed to get as far as successfully feeding the dog that crucial sandwich. Alas, I got killed. I was told I talked a lot for a corpse...

H2G2 quotes )

Found a website with screenshots of JPhoneix as I was looking for picture of this scene. There's some hilarious quotes of his too. (I actually lol'ed.) Some might even be iconized.

In other news, I went to the train station at 4:15 for the 4:30 train which finally arrived at 5pm and took 1:45 hours instead of the almost-one-hour it usually does (or the 40 minutes it used to take). So I walk in at 7 pm and find a note from my uncle saying he's gone for the weekend. Ergo, all alone.

No, haven't checked out gradschool sites yet. Gonna watch Momo instead. Got that German level exam coming up.

PS: Am almost completely sure that what I've got on TV (German-dubbed) is Escape from LA and I am really sure that the uber-bad-guy is being played by Raul Julia. Except that I can find no such record. Do I really have to wait for the credits?

PPS: Touchy little shipper, ain't she?". I was just commenting to help Anon's failing memory.

PPPS: I'll go to bed, I swear, but first:

"Do you want to hear a Stephin Merritt Mr Punch song? Do you want to hear Claudia Gonson pretend to be Angela Lansbury in Sweeney Todd? What about hearing a demonic Mr Punch singing along? You do? Well, click on http://www.fabulist.org/archives/2006/06/future_bible_he.html"

Brought to you c/o Neil Gaiman. If you can find "The Tragical Comedy of Comical Tragedy of Mr Punch" on the online BBC radio, give it a listen. Freaky-creapy. (Think it's down, though.)

There and back again

Ze speedy veekend )

Neil Gaiman is a wonderful blogger and I just can't say this enough. He provides links to 7-year old comics (as in, author is 7, not old comics), gives relationship advice, spreads the news of a bear treed by a cat and links to what amounts to a book-rec list (he's #21).

Non-Rayne Jayne recs are here courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] annabelleofqa.

Much love to [livejournal.com profile] rayne_shippers for the JWhedon interview link.

Off to read [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes and give All Things Copper the final edit.

Boredom reigns supreme

Which is why I'm looking for the vid cliip with the exchange between Mal and River, which goes(ish):

Mal: Shoot me if I'm wrong.
River: *points gun at Mal*
Mal: Or we could talk some more.

Not really doing much else. Feeling very apathetic.

Oh, yeah, watching a music vid, The World I Know and thoroughly enjoyed War to End All Wars and I think this vid is Adam Baldwin answering a Q.

Boooored.

And there's The Universe vid, which is purty.

Still bored.

Fun adventure in sitting

Pretty uneventful holidays so far, and probably not changing. Haven't written any* and haven't investigated Barcelona labs and stuff for future jobs either. Nor courses, academic or otherwise. Just can't seem to get it together to look for it. I'd rather hide procrastinating, checking out such things as:

THE Firefly clip. If you only watch one, this just might have to bit it. :)

Music vids

a) River music video to U2's "Man and a Woman"
b) River music video to Ghost of the Robot's "Dangerous"
c) Mal music video using Cash's "Hurt"
d) Mal music video using "Halleluja"

Serenity clips

a) on River
b) escaping the Reavers
c) the Operative ("Dear Buddha...")
d) losing a panel
e) River beating up people
f) the space battle ("Target the Reavers! Target everyone! Somebody fire!") featuring ze leaf on ze vind ("What does that mean?")

Interviews

a) gush at the on-set interviews of Adam Baldwin, Jewel Strait, Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher, Ron Glass
b) laugh your head off at Alan Tudyk's shadow puppetry.

Extras

a) read a never-shot Firefly episode 1x15 which totally explains [livejournal.com profile] active_apathy's singed-turtle icon
b) an inside tour on Serenity (and part 2)
c) short explosion
d) Fruity Oaty Bars! (Now kill!)
e) this Serenity trailer made by a fan which I think kicks the official trailer's bums

and, of course, a parody: The Mosquito (Sinners!)

Really, really should do something productive.

Oh! Tanned. A bit.

* Why? Because writing about Mal, Zoe and Wash drunk at a bar is a bitch. That's why. Or, y'know, writing Zoe at all, damn it. Oh, and because my laptop fucking burns. It burns! (My lap, that is.)

Crimes

I turned on the lights just now, although there's still some meagre light outside. Apparently, that's a crime for gran, who still has that post-war skimp-and-save thing going on. But it's dark, gran! Sure, I can still see, but I can see by the light of the gorram moon too. Does that mean I should read at midnight without turning on a light?

Went to beach today (possibly another crime) and was cold because it was very windy. Saw a kid fly a kite (which I've never done, though I do remember my brother making one). Slightly tanned now on my back, which is fantastic.

Found some of the Rayne collections songs (fine, two, out of like ten that were locked). Majorly jonesing for a Nikita fix. Birkoff, my dear, why did you suddenly disapear/die and get replaced by your snarky Californian twin? That did not rule.

Ooh, saw Dr Kovach from ER (hawt in a slim sort of way) as Sparticus. It...didn't actually work. He's not the type to pull off the Gladiator/slave thing. Too delicate-looking.

Writing stuff now. By which I mean the not-smut whore scene. Ok, some smut.

New Nathan Fillion interview for Slither here. While Nathe is a good sport, the interviewer is pretty useless. (And I mean very.) Thankfully, we don't need the itnerviewer that much anyway. Having just watched the Serenity interviews on the same site, you can really tell what an interviewer should be like. Saying "amazing" like Nathe has just admitted to liking jam on toast isn't acceptable, Mr. Interviewer-man.

There are a few comments Nathe made that I just might have to iconize (esp. the leg one). Plus, he makes the greatest eye expressions. I wuv this man, really. He's so sweet.

Read and watch, little one

On a completely different note: if you’re offered 25* for one cow on a rinky-dink planet, how much would you be expected to pay for one whole night with a whore at the docks of a commercial planet?

For that matter, would I be insane if I said the price for one night was approximately the same as the cost of a full round of bullets?

Or would I be cheap?

Now I'm not one to like a southern drawl overmuch, being more of the Irish-appreciatin' type, but is it bad that I love it when Nathan Fillion drawls? And he does just that in Slither, which looks not so much scary or gory as much as funny.

PS: If I have to go to the bathroom one more time I am going to scream. Stupid over-working kidneys, take a break.
Edit: *scream*

Feet for food, and food for thought.

The interview thing went well, I suppose. They got my CV from the zoo because they´re the ones that organize employement stuff for the zoo and other such places. The job would be a substitute assistent animal care (read: shovel and feed). That means I´d work a) when they called, b) when someone else is sick and c) every kind of holiday they´d care for. It´s a 7:30 am to 2 pm thing, hard labour. I´m going to keep it in mind, though I didn´t want it for Xmas, what with it almost being December already and family being in precarious situation as is.

All my BSc. papers were accepted. I´ll be hearing from them in 6 months to a year. If I´m lucky.

Forgot to mention that I baked a banana bread (J´s much-loved recipie). Result: pure joy.
