I can't really type too much, or lok at the screen either: doctor's orders.

I went to the eye doc' Thursday, who checked the ol' eyeballs and said I can still see as little as I could last year, which is great. Then they put this awful stinging liquid into my eyes which apparently had the effect of swimming in Belladonna, or seeing Johnny Depp. I.e. massive pupils. Then they checked out my retina, which was new and exciting. Except the doctor-lady spent a lot of time with the right eye, and got out another lens (which went right on the eyeball, after some anaesthesia, so it really felt like there was a lot of slimy goo on it).

Then she starts asking whether I've been seeing black specks lately. Warning bels woulda rung if I hadn't been distracted by the whole "omg gooey lens on my eye" experience. She calls another doctor, who does the same lens thing, and then they explain: there's an itty bitty hole in your retina, which, being near-sighted, is not completely out-of-the-blue. So if you'd just wait a mo', we'll zap it with some lasers so your retina doesn't flip out like a pancake flung to the wall. (Ok, they didn't use the pancake analogy.)

So after some waiting, worrying and yet more waiting, they sit me in front of another machine where this green light gets up close and personal with my right eye's fueld of vision. Then I hear a click, followed by a sting in the back of my eyeball which is really a wierd place to feel a sting. The doctor lowers the potency on the laser and keeps clicking away. SOmetimes it hurts, sometimes it doesn't, but when she really started firing away with speed, my left eye just gave up on the whole concept of focusing on a red light and tried to stay open an in a fixed position instead. My right eye was just, "Omg green light! Ow! Green light! Ow!"

So now I can't wear my contacts for a few days, or stare at anything for too long for a week. So now work, which is cool, but also no books, no computer (much) ad no TV (much).

I did however manage to watch Slither with Nathan Fillian (adoreable and funny) and Secret Window with Johnny Depp, so the cuteness has compensated my troubles.

Wow. Writing with my eyes closed ain't half bad. Ta' now.

HOLY SHIT.

girl, that's messed up.

i've been warned about this by my eye doctor because of my terribly eyesight. it's good you got it taken care of when it was just a little hole. i'm always nervous when i get an eye check-up that i'll have developed retinal tearing...

actually, i should have gone for a check up in august. *worries*
