Monday
I wanted to go to the Caixa Forum Animated Stories but they were closed, so instead I took the lovely pair of envelopes that greeted me upon my arrival back in Barcelona and had a lemonade slushie whilst reading [livejournal.com profile] katarinagram’s letter. It was wonderful

Tuesday
I went to watch Domino. I really liked it. Kiara was good in it and had the most excellent hair-cut I have ever seen. I appreciated the non-linear editing style, because instead of confusing me, it expanded on characters, provided backstory and explained in slow-mo when necessary. Plus, being largely visual myself, the text-notes, names and little “these people are related to these” arrows were of great help. One fine example of the editing is the opening credits (with most a excellent music + dialogue mix); the closing edits were adorable in that they put close-up shots of the actors and wrote out their first names only. The music, particularly “Am I really that bad” and “Motherf*cka”, was excellent.

Wednesday
As is traditional, Oti and I went to the Caixa Forum, where the group Kavocheva was playing Ivory Coast drum songs, with some dance intermingled. That night, the band consisted of one man from Ivory Coast, one from Cameroon, and three from Catalunya, Spain. It was, to be British about it, wicked. The Ivory Coast guy’s hands were all over that djembe and the Cameroon guy did things with his back I never thought possible, arching and curving his back at an incredible rate.

Thursday
Victor and I cleaned up the office a bit and rediscovered that the floor is indeed red. It’s been a long time, floor. That evening I went back to the Caixa Forum to watch some more of the animations, greatly enjoying Arthur de Pins’s recounting of the life of Depressive Crabs, La revolution des crabs. There was an incident in the theatre between me and a creep who kept reaching out and touching my skirt lightly, so lightly I though it was just “hey, someone’s sitting next to you” contact. Then he kept stretching out his hand. A glare or two kept him off, but when he asked if I wouldn’t hold his hand, a very forceful and definite “no” was enough. I was still uncomfortable having him there, though.

Friday
Victor and I had absolutely no work to do in the office, so we slept (him on the couch, me in the chair for I am the contortion master) and then he lent me Silent Hill, which completely failed to arouse my interest, not to mention fear or suspense. Blah. I spent the rest of the day at home watching the majority of Lost: Season 2, keeping a running commentary and quote-collection, which I will post when I can. There's a nice German-site with English trasncripts of it.

Saturday
I woke up at 1 pm, had breakfast with a Lost ep then hightailed to the office under the assumption that I would gather intelligence on postgrad options. My brother emailed a professor asking about universities, so I should check those places out. As of yet, I’re read [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes and written this post (twice, because the Backspace button hates me). Needless to say have been avoiding life, the universe and everything for over 24 hours now.
