Much too much food
Jun. 25th, 2006 05:54 pmThis weekend was the weekend of food. And firecrackers. But mainly food. I'm just going to give a quick summary:
Thursday
There was a lot of work at the office in the packaging sort of way. I got a blister on my elbow from so much packaging and let me tell you: not comfortable.
Friday
Also a lot of work, but packaging a different material. So yay. At the train station I bought gummy things (sour-flavour). At night we (Uncle, Aunt, David the cousin-by-legalities and me) went to the house of a Catalunian-descendent, French-born, Montreal-raised woman. Was fun, and I had my first real casual face-to-face English-conversation in almost a year.
Saturday
Try and follow: my uncle's wife's sister's husband's parents have a house with a pool. We went there and hung out all day and ate a lot. I played ping pong.
Sunday
Said sister's husband, the sister and the kids came over for lunch (and breakfast) because they're remodeling the kitchen. So again, fooooood.
In other news, have more info on universities, need to get it together re: the GRE and TOEFL and have written a little more of a River & Simon scene set in the Jayne-fic (but could be a stand-alone).
No progress on the other plot-bunny. Honestly, a bit scared, because it's freakin' complicated figuring out who went where why. Because I have the horrible need to make my stories make sense or be plausible and not make you look up and say: "Wait a minute...why would they do that if they could have done this and why on earth did he tell her that..." etc ad nauseum.
