City holiday
Jun. 6th, 2006 08:05 pmYesterday was such a day, but I went to the office anyway. (We're haphazard that way.) Mid-morning, I went over to MCarmen's and ended up staying for the day. You will recall my boss is MCarmen's hubby. I was dleighted to chat away with Marta, who as usual drilled me with the hardest life questions possible. I think I scared her a bit with descriptions of post-grad life in the USA, and how poor university profs really are.
TOday I worked extra hours, putting the catalogue into a Microsoft Access table. (Not till arriving here had I heard of the program. Here it seems to be quite the norm.) I entered up to part 140 then called it quits. Took a break over at MCarmen's, showed her the pics mom sent me and watched a very nice, if sad, French/Canada 2001 movie, Betty F-something and other stories. I'd try to find it, but at the moment haveth no interneteth. Sucketh.
Oh god, all those numbers are flashing through my brain.
I called ma' and asked her how the Mexico-days were. She told me a bit about seeing dad's side of the family, and it was a bit like her talking about strangers. Well, ok, not a bit. Totally.
We also talked a bit about my planning-for post-grad plans.
So I'm tired, stressed and daunted, but the super sexy picture on my desktop* makes it somewhat better.
Yesterday made icons for
fireflicons, including my first ever successful manip (ok, it's just a blending of two images). Still have a few planned for the challenge, but if any strikes your fancy, do tell. (Like, seriously. There's some flismy one's, but a couple I worked real hard on.) They are :

Notes: I love the coloring on 15. Damn proud of 7 (and it's near-twins) and of 2 and 3 for the blending.
Considering, in order, 5/7, 2/3, 4. Think I'll fiddle with 15 to make it textless.
