Phone calls not always yay-full

bending_sickleMom and, presumably, dad are back from Mexico. Not that mom told me how it all went, other than her getting the distinct feeling that dad didn't quite want her there much.
Instead, what we talked about was the horrible evil process of getting the Spanish government ro recognize my BSc. Some of you may recall how the gov' sent me a letter saying I hadn't correctly legalized the diploma in Canada because it wasn't stamped by the Ministry of Education.
Turns out there is no such thing, and the whole "education" offices are provincial. Which means that, after numerous calls to various embassies and consulates, my papers were damn well legalized, thankyouverymuch.
And now the three months they gave me to fix this little "problem" are almost through, so, for reasons I'm yet fuzzy on, there's a fax waiting for me in Cubelles. This fax may or may not be a copy of what was already sent by the consulate in Canada to the Ministry of Education in Madrid. In any case, I'm supposed to write a letter (all fancy-like, in spanish, which I so cannot do) and send a photocopy of said fax to the Min of Ed.
Which makes little sense to me, but anyway.
This all was the cause of great woe and bickering between mom and I.
Add the whole GRE and TOEFL fun to the mix, and you get non-fun. A vacuum of joy.
Because yes, I must do a freakin' TOEFL. The uni in Maine I talked about requires them for any "international student" (so, like, even UK ones). Other uni's are all, "for those who's first language is not english".
I find the whole thing very insulting. Going through it twice even more so.

So yup, not too keen on doing anything productive. Which is why I have a zillion screencaps to try and manipulate into something worthy of the public domain.
Also being antisocial because Ingrid has come back for a visit and I'm in my room.
