I Aten't Dead*
Feb. 22nd, 2014 10:54 pmhello, sweet, sweet internet! i’m back home from hospital (Feb. 14 which happy fucking valentines until today Feb. 22). still have to keep being a bit of a bed-and-couch potato but i’m (basically) okay. (okay and alone in the house for like a month which under any other circumstances would be awesome but right now is the exact opposite.)
(two to three days they said. my ass i say. also full report on all the prodding and poking later but let me tell you that the aftermath of a lumbar puncture? CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT. it doesn't hit everyone the same but oh sweet jesus i basically had a three day migraine)
and now, to catch up on everything
or sleep. sleep is good.

Date: 2014-02-22 11:51 pm (UTC)I'd visit and keep you company, but the commute's a bit of a rough one from over here, so here's a cute guy for you instead:
Take care of yourself, get better, and stuff!
...you know, none of this answers the question of what's up with your eye. Can you see? Can you shoot lasers out of it? Is it made of gold yet? I NEED TO KNOW ALL THESE THINGS RIGHT FRIGGING NOW I KID YOU NOT

Date: 2014-02-23 07:07 am (UTC)Oh dude. Dude. The spine stuff was just a throbbing ache for the day but the we stole a bunch of your cerebrospinal fluid! muahaha! and now your brain isn't floating as happily as it should be! stuff that came with it? Evil. It was a choice between being completely horizontal or stabbing your head against the myriad of invisible metal spikes hanging from the ceiling aimed straight at your brain. (Except for that one day where even lying down was spikeapaloza.) They did it Tuesday morning, and I was only able to say I felt moderately okay by Friday evening. Otherwise I was swinging between "oh that's quite painful" and *writhing on the bed at the merest hint of elevation*
And the eye is basically unchanged and they're like "...whelp, it's not neurological? Come back next week for eye tests." So there's that fun waiting for me.
They did find something else so commiserate with me because I am no longer allowed booze on account of meds. I am a sad panda.

Date: 2014-02-24 05:03 pm (UTC)On the plus side, yay, eye problems are not neurobrainicrazy problems. That's good. Hopefully they will be resolved in good time and you'll be better and your eye will be healed and that's awesome (even if it means you don't get a gold pimp laser eye cannon).
I will drink extra in honor of your sad boozeless panda state. And you can always play catchup in a few days/weeks/whatevers once it's done. BOOZE UP LIKE A CHAMP!

Date: 2014-02-24 06:23 pm (UTC)This boozelessness of course means that if I do end up finding Kiwi liquor and am in your general vicinity when you hop over to the southern hemisphere, I will only be able to stare at it longingly while you enjoy it and I have something sad and fizzy.
Could I maybe get gold-rimmed glasses and strap on a laser cannon to them, do you think? I've grown quite attached to the idea.

Date: 2014-02-25 08:46 pm (UTC)However, if we meet up and you are on a zero-booze diet, I will be most disappointed. This will probably not stop me from drinking around you, and maybe I will drink your share as well, but I trust you to act honorably and not try and roofie my drink or something. Or if you do, at least make it tasty. ;-)
Glasses with laser cannons on the side are fully acceptable. Make it so, number one!

Date: 2014-02-23 09:24 am (UTC)Welp at least it's over and done with, and less stress, and I'm hoping and assuming you'll recover from the cruel and unusual punishment and or other interventions in... a bit, enough to enjoy the empty house too. Yes. Yes that will be a thing that will happen. It is known.

Date: 2014-02-23 10:24 am (UTC)And eh, it's not entirely over, there's still some eye tests to be set up next week (they're like "...yeah so the thing you came here for? not neurological. aside from that we don't know???") and I need to set up some follow-up but yeah, not dying \o/
