2013 In The Beginning:

Where did you ring in the New Year? - In the street just outside seschat’s house amidst absolutely terrifying fireworks.
Who were you with? - My dearest bean and her folks.
Did you kiss anyone at midnight? - …no? *ponders* Maybe I gave Seschat a peck, I’m not sure.
Did you make any resolutions? - The same ones I always make.
If so did you keep them? - Not really.

Single/Taken? - Single.
How many relationships did you have? - 0
How many break ups? - 0
How many people did you kiss? - 0

2013 Friends and Enemies:

Did you meet any new friends this year? - M. and precious peeps on the internet.
Did any of your friendships end? - No.
Did you dislike anyone? - I’m not too fond of my family.
Did you get into any fights? - Oh lord, so many. (See above.)

Did you receive what you wanted? - No. It’s not even something I want.

How old did you turn? - 30 *sobs*
Did you have a cake? - No.
What did you do for your birthday? - I had sushi with G. (which was awesome) instead of my mother because she had to drop me like a hot potato in favour of some business lunch of my father’s (which was less awesome).

Did you get any presents? - Seschat sent me a care package <3

2013 Memories and Accomplishments:

Funniest Memory? - Writing headcanon with Seschat.
Saddest Memory? - When I broke down and sobbed painfully for hours after my mother called me that one evening.
Most Embarrassing Memory? - Spilling a whole mug of coffee all over the place when I was with Seschat.
Best Accomplishment? - Starting the whole New Zealand and PhD thing. It’s not done, though, which is why this is a qualified accomplishment, but hey, it’s something.

Meme: How was 2013?:

1. What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before? - Had New Year’s without family members. Visited Seschat. Went to therapy. Dyed my hair. Impulse bought expensive things. Started a PhD application process.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? - They’re the same every year, Pinky.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? - No.

4. Did anyone close to you die? - Yes.

5. What countries did you visit? - Germany, Switzerland.

6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013? - All the things. An income, a place of my own, a sense of purpose, a life.

7. What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory? - I don’t do dates. I do moments. So, cuddling seschat and my first therapy session are big ones.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? - Went to therapy (a qualified achievement as it didn’t really help must aside from starting the whole Kiwiland project which great but not the reason I went).Started the PhD process.

9. What was your biggest failure? - All the things.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? - The flu and an (unconfirmed) UTI.

11. What was the best thing you bought? - Food.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? - All my peeps on the internet and M.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? - My immediate family’s.

14. Where did most of your money go? - Therapy.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? - The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. (I could also say the Kiwiland project but honestly, that’s more terror and dread and anxiety than anything.)

16. What song will always remind you of 2013? - The entire Save Rock and Roll album by Fall Out Boy.

Happier or sadder: I am dead inside.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Those online courses. Also, more progress on the Kiwiland PhD project, but then, I do what I can.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of? I could’ve done without the anxiety freak outs in Spring.

20. How will you be spending did you spend Christmas? Eating and pointedly ignoring the fighting.

21. What was your favorite month of 2013? I hate the whole year, but those days in January with Seschat were awesome.

22. Did you fall in love in 2013? No.

23. How many one-night stands? None.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Fuck favourites.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? No.

26. What was the best book you read? I’ve been shit at reading this year (most of it was spent finishing books I hated but had been dragging around for too long. Also Murakami’s 1Q84 was such a disappointment.), but North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell and The House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski are high up there. (Of course, I haven’t finished either.)

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? - Fall Out Boy.

28. What did you want and get? Well, I got hope, and that’s nothing to sneeze at.

29. What did you want and not get? All the things.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? Of this year? Aw hell, I don’t know, none of the ones of this year that I watched were all that good. (I can’t even say The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, because I love it mainly because of ~my feels~.) Out of movies watched this year, I say Young Frankenstein (1974). But for movies that came out this year, I’d have to say Philomena.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? - I had sushi with a friend and turned 30.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Not being here. Having a purpose in life, my own income, place, etc.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013? IT’S GODDAMN CLOTHES WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT FROM ME, MEME?!

34. What kept you sane? Seschat and headcanons.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? It was a trifecta: Richard Armitage, Dean O’Gorman, and Aidan Turner. And then suddenly Luke Evans.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? All of them, none of them, I don’t even know. Tumblr’s burnt me out.

37. Who did you miss? All my peeps.

38. Who were the best new people you met? Tumblr peeps and M.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013: If your therapist is bad, stop going. Also, having a plan that you’re not 100% sure you want to do is better than not having any plan at all.
