bending_sickleTurns out apple seeds don't have arsenic so much as cyanide. So I've copy/pasted info on cyanide.
An embarrassing amount of gratitude to D for being sciency and figuring out the probably boiling-point of blood. I really have forgotten a lot of my science-speak. Or maybe it's just the chemistry I'm trying to forget.

"Faust" was actually good for movie made in 1926. It had excellent music and decent acting, and an interesting story to boot. Good use of lighting too.
Of course, there's the whole, "oh look, dying woman out in a blizzard next to her dead baby - infanticide! Burn her!"
