Appallingly sick, of the "breathing impeded by coughing" variety. Seriuously, these past two mornings have been like Smoker's Cough Hell. Damn you, virus!
My brother sent me pictures of his trip to Peru with his girlfriend. They're nice, except I don't quite know where each picture is or what he did, really, him not having told me anything. But it's sort of nice and a bit heartbreaking to see him all happy and carefree and playful and so totally in love. Nice because "yays, my brother's happy" but heartbreaking because I never see him like this anymore. Or, have only, like, micro-seconds, maybe, of him being happy and playful with me, like when we were growing up. Back when he was more my brother than he's been in years. I was, what? Fourteen when he left the house for good? And since then I've only seen him a couple times a year for a few weeks each. If I hardly knew him before - what he liked, what he thought, what worried him, all that jazz - you can imagine how completely a stranger he is to me know. I know his character, his personality - somewhat, I guess, because we all change - but I don't know who he is. And fuck if that doesn't suck.
Oh, folks, I might as well say what I did over the weekend. I'm not going to get around to a long entry about it for ages, methinks, especially with home-internet belly-up again. But, thing is, I had a fantastic time on Sunday. I went with Elisa and Laura to ParkPop (Wiki Stub) in the Hague, which is a load of free concerts in a giant park. There were 3 stages, and I knew a few of the bands. I watched Mala Vita, The Hoosiers (adorable singer and excellent band), Jason Mraz, Orishas (whoot!), and caught a bit of Morgan Heritage, The Opposites, Kula Shaker (you know this band's hits, I'm sure) and Sheryl Crow. I have a few pictures and appallingly-short videos, but it was grand. I particularly loved The Hoosiers and Jason Mraz, although Mala Vita was awesome and Sheryl Crow sang, "It it Makes You Happy", which is my fave' of hers, so it's all good. Here's a YouTube Search of videos for that day.
