A car is never "just a car"*
Nov. 5th, 2010 01:50 amToday we had a suprise party for one of the women at Internship - she's going away for a year on Maternal Leave (she's due in January). It was nice.
This afternoon I didn't really do much and procrastinated like hell because I couldn't focus enough to write. Which is why it's almost 2 am again and here I am. Slowly but surely, I'm getting the bits I want in, although I'm afraid it's not so heavily Chip POV as TFSB. Or maybe it's just that shit is actually happening and I don't need to have Chip freak out for pages and pages. (Also, Chip isn't freaking out so much, although still a little.) Next up, we have Angry Dean, Uncomfortable Chuck, and Wistful Icarus. Le squee.

"Get the hell away from that," roared a voice from the other end of the row of cars. Chip started and almost dropped the wrench into the engine. "I said,” the voice continued, swapping volume for coldness, "get the hell away from that car."
Chip looked up to see Dean advancing towards him. The expression on his face brokered no argument so Chip backed away from the Impala, hands held up in front on him. As Dean reached the car, Chip took an extra step backwards – he was the perfect poster boy for the expression murder in ones eyes. Without a word, Dean reached up and slammed the hood down one-handed, his eyes locked on Chip.
"You do not touch this car," he said, his voice steel. "You don't touch it, you don't fix it, you don't use it for parts." Dean’s hand on the hood curled into a fist. "Do I make myself clear?"

And the way I calm my inner editor down is by letting it only add, never delete. It's like, "You don't like how that went? Fix it by writing more." I think we've come to an understanding.
