I've been ill these past few days, which has been fantastic fun, and I'm still a bit queasy - literally.

On Wednesday morning, I started out not feeling so hot and my insides were reenacting several peasant revolutions. Around midday I sank down on the living room sofa and drifted off for a while, then moved over to the other sofa and - a few more angry peasantries later - hunkered down to consume a bowl of white rice and some chamomille tea.

This white rice, it turned out, did not get on well with the peasant revolution of the south and decided to evacuate the premises immediately by heading north. It did not feel nice at all.

So I hunkered down some more on the sofa and really didn't watch Sea Wolf although it had Tim Roth in it (evil, of course) and was mainly dazed and nauseous. Then there was my great and quite accurate impersonation of a fountain, although the living room carpet really isn't the place for that sort of thing. And there went the apparently useless chamomille and the lovely pills meant to subdue the revolution. Apparently cupping your hands around your mouth does not replace a bucket or toilet.

This was followed by more sofa-hunkering and dozing and fever. Towards the evening, I managed to choke down a small biscuit, the total sum of fuel for the hoards of revolting peasants of the south and quasy sea-faring sailors of the north for the entire day.

The next morning I was weak, quasy, hungry and feverish. There were no revolutions or fountains or anything, and I managed to down - and keep down - various tiny tidbits like yogurt and crackers and biscuits.

Yesterday I was a bit better abeit weak and cautious and le tired. I actually slept in my own bed, although my middle was still doing a very accurate impersonation of a solid and painful stone. Today I actually sat down for normal meals, although they've been slow and small and some foods are still being avoided. *sigh*

My whole gastrointestinal section is pathetic, really. It's my weak point - both in terms of disease and emotionally. I mean, woah, it's had it all, starting off with salmonella at the tender age of a few months, followed by - if we count this one - three serious bouts of gastroenteritis and one horrible, evil, no good bout of dysentery. Then there's the "chronic stress equals chronic nausea" and the two wonderful "so you're starting a university program and moving to another country and are stressed out of your mind" upchucks. Yays.

This made me cry in that happy, loving sort of way.
