Life: I'm almost finished with my thesis! \o/ There's still some slow-stuff to do, but I can see the end! Almost taste it! It tastes like...unemployment. Oy.

Nano: What's the opposite of jumping the shark? Like, so epically bad that it's not just gone downhill but burrowed underneath? That's how I feel the story's gone now. The angel-vision isn't convincing me, and everyone's asleep except Icarus (non-communicative) and Chip (pissed off and tired), so the bit I'm writing now also sucks. Plus, what the hell was my plot? Seriously. Stuff happened, but there was no major thingy, climax or whatever. I suck, yo ):

*goes back to writing very slowly* *is bored* Distract me, y'all! *pouts*

When you curse my name (and you will), remember, you asked for a distraction.

I was avoiding writing yesterday by randomly surfing Tvtropes, when I encountered Sonichu. It's like a trainwreck that unfolds like a slow-motion rose.

That's...a disturbing comic o.0 ?

Although, TV Tropes = *opens up a zillion tabs* I doubt I'll curse your name: I can stay awake for hours yet, long enough to run out of steam on the trope-reading train.

You've mentioned you're doing Nano aswell. How's it going? (It sounds interesting if bizarredly random.) Any plans to share the final product?

Nano is hell. Seriously. I so understand what you mean. Not only am I behind like fuck, but I'm very very bored by my story, too. It seems to me like the only thing that ever happens is Sam freaking out over some random shit or other, and that's it.

Boring. Boring. And if I think about how much of my story actually need rewriting and overthinking? It makes me want to cry a little.

*gives the pompoms a half-hearted shake* Almost over! Then the sense of accomplishment will be wonderful, right? Right?!?

Write!

PS: Nano Pep Talk from Neil Gaiman (http://www.nanowrimo.org/node/1065561)

The last novel I wrote (it was ANANSI BOYS, in case you were wondering) when I got three-quarters of the way through I called my agent. I told her how stupid I felt writing something no-one would ever want to read, how thin the characters were, how pointless the plot. I strongly suggested that I was ready to abandon this book and write something else instead, or perhaps I could abandon the book and take up a new life as a landscape gardener, bank-robber, short-order cook or marine biologist. And instead of sympathising or agreeing with me, or blasting me forward with a wave of enthusiasm---or even arguing with me---she simply said, suspiciously cheerfully, "Oh, you're at that part of the book, are you?"
