bending_sickleAlright kids, I'm off to Leiden tomorrow, and I'll have to hit the books running, being so behind as I am and utterly loaded with work already. (But geewiz, was it great to take a vacation from it all.) Hopefully the home internet connection over there doesn't screw me over (as it had been doing) and I'll be able to report back the on joys of Dutchland.
Right now, I'm tired and queasy and displeased, because, well... My aunt said we were going out for a walk round the beach this evening. Y un huevo.** We met up with two of their freinds (lovely folk) and had supper right where all the winds of Europe swept by. This lasted until midnight, by which time I (and, thankfully, my uncle, or we'd never have left) was frozen solid and silently bemoaning the travel chores I'd yet to do and the long day I'd have the next day. We've hardly ever gone out and now, the eve of my leaving, we hang out until the wee hours?!? Not cool or considerate, guys, not at all.
Spoke to Mom and Brother previously. Talking to mom was an emotional and thematic rollercoaster, and my brother didn't say anything at all (despite having gone to freakin' Las Vegas). So argh.
(I must admit I'm mainly upset because my body's got the whole psychosomatic crap down pat and has been working a number on me these past few days. Morning nausea! Evening nausea! Headaches! Making friends with diverse bathrooms! ...not cool either.)
Also, updated the icons. The Penguin!Love icon is still there, never fear.
