Coughing results in:

a) exhaustion
b) headache
c) gag-reflex
d) asphixiation
e) unexpected medication from concerned roommate

Little known fact that I just observed from personal experience: coughing is an amazing abdominal workout.

ETA: Unexpected Medication appears to be an anaesthetic, because I can't quite feel my tongue or palate. Coughing's better, though. *shrug*

if you start having trouble breathing, get to a doctor or an emergency room - if your tongue swells, you could be allergic to the unexpected medication, the ingestion of which is never a good idea anyway in my experience. and if the coughing keeps up at that intensity, i'd go to see a doctor anyway.

No, don't fret! I iz ok! The not-breathing was just that the coughing went on and on and I couldn't quite breath in without having to immediately cough, like panting really hard. I've been mostly alright all day, except upon waking and just now, when evil chili powder exacerbated things horribly.

And yes, in retrospect, unexpected!medication ingestion sounds...irresponsible? But I have no allergies and I knew what the little tablet would do in general terms and anyway, I'd been coughing for too long to quite care.

Awww sweetie, it seems your ickiness has lasted far too long! You deserve to finally feel better, you've suffered enough =(

Oh, and I have an absolutely disgusting recipe for colds/flu:

In a big pot of water add:
- whole grapefruit
- whole apple
- whole orange
- whole lemon
- bag of chamomile tea
- tiny amount of ginger

and boil together. Then drink the result in a teacup with some honey. It's quite good for you...if the taste doesn't kill you first that is.
