Return of the Meme!

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

[livejournal.com profile] lienne asks:

1. Tell me ten things that are in the room with you right now. (I find this one gives surprising insight into people's minds.)
2. What's something funny or interesting people tell you about your childhood that you don't remember yourself?
3. What's something funny or interesting about your childhood you do remember yourself?
4. If you could have three superpowers, what would they be?
5. What are your five or so favourite books? Or series or authors, if books is too narrow?

1. Manuel "Manolo" the Mandrill, my fluffy blue bathrobe, one blue Buddha (meditating), three red and fake gerberas in an ikea glass vase, one mug with stagnant rooibos tea, one glorious fern, rediscovered incense sticks, Giant Binder of Win (retired), a collection of Smurfs (free with purchase at the supermarket), one pot of basil (adopted).Note: My room is my home, so everything is in there. Unless it's in another country.

2. My uncle would ride his bike with toddler!me in the front basket, with my legs hanging out. When I talk to people in Gran's village, that memory still comes up.

3. Whilst living in Costa Rica, humingbirds would occasionally wander into our house and then flitter to the skylight. They'd eventually make it out on their own, but one time mom had to catch the silly bugger, and I got to pet it. :)

4. Telekinesis! (I cannot stress that enough!) Teleportation. Animal mimecry (I've wanted this since I was wee.)

5. I have too many books dear to my heart, so here's a little selection of the first that come to mind: Good Omens By TPratchett and NGaiman, In the Language of Love by DSchoemperlen, East of Midnight by TLee, Fantastic Mr Fox by RDahl, The Hogfather by TPratchett. There are so many more. (I generally go by books, but author-wise, I love Gaiman, Pratchett, Dahl, Schoemperlen, and Forster. And many more, o'course.)
