Why are you guarding an empty house?*
Feb. 29th, 2008 08:08 pmI've got one last meme to do - which I've even been tagged for - but it requires a bit of thought and self-analysis. So that's not coming anytime right now. And since I don't really feel quite up to saying anything at all about other stuff, that's it for today. (Maybe.)
And just for the record, damn Kiernan! I still have the occasional heebie and/or jeebie when faced with Teh Dark of Evol. I like horror whilst reading/watching it. Future, post-watching/reading me hates horror. *sigh*
ETA: Out of boredom and without a trace of a sincere attempt, I took an IQ quiz over on Facebook. Naturally, I checked up on what the score actually meant. A google led me to a page with a few examples, including:
# 115-124 - Above average (e.g., university students)
# 125-134 - Gifted (e.g., post-graduate students)
# 135-144 - Highly gifted (e.g., intellectuals)
# 145-154 - Genius (e.g., professors)
# 155-164 - Genius (e.g., Nobel Prize winners)
Am I the only one absolutely horrified at the examples used? As if just by the grace of being lucky enough, or stupid enough, or stubborn enough, to reach a certain level of education or achievement in your chosen field makes you a genius. Very many bright minds lay languishing in the gutters and very many morons are leaders in their fields. And many, many people are good at what they do simply due to hard work.
