Cardboard box? You were lucky.*
Feb. 12th, 2008 08:08 pm'ello folks. Had my meeting with my supervisor today - an hour late because some blond lass snuck in to discuss matters. Her and my supervisor's plan was to stop the discussion once people with appointments (me) showed up. Unfortunately, I'm polite, so when I saw my supervisor was in a meeting, I just settled down to wait. Mariska, who had a 2 pm meeting, did likewise, so we only got in at 2:30.
Whatever. I finally have the forms filled out, deadlines and all. This is good because I finally have a bit of guidance as to what I'm supposed to be doing but, on the other hand, dealines. Feh.
On my way to print shite, feeling absolutely miserable, I bumped into Lander. So we hung out a bit and had a snack. He was quite sweet, trying to cheer me up - a nigh impossible task then, I fear - and also a bit touchy-feely. Hm. Maybe the "We're just friends, yeah?" chat is in order. (On the other hand, it was damn good to be hugged and told everything's going to be ok.) We're meeting tomorrow afternoon. No word from Elisa on a) tea and b) Valentine's party.
So here I am, whiling away the time until bittorrent deigns share entertainment. Don't want to work and definately don't want to check out apartments. (Neither of this is good nor acceptable, but fuck that.)
As an aside, why didn't I recognize Simon Pegg in Doctor Who's "The Long Game"?
ETA: John Simm cameo in Spaced 2x01! With sunglasses and a toothpick! I'd recognize that smile anywhere! Oh, the squee :) It was like Christmas, it truly was.
Five Questions Meme, via
lienne:
1. Leave me a casual comment. Could be anything you want to share, acompliment, a song lyric, or it could be a simple, "Do me next!!"
2. Once you have done this, I will reply by asking you five personal questions.
3. Update your LJ with the questions and their answers.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. Complete the cycle when someone comments on your entry by asking them five questions in a reply.
1. What's your favourite moment from BTO?
The car metaphor and dear Mohinder's flight from the scene. (In general, though, it's the descriptions of Inanna's powers that are consistently my faves, like Chap 1 and her lip-licking in the car.)
2. From any fic? (Or top five or ten if you can't pick just one.)
Oh gawds! I honestly can't remember the moments themselves, but they all involved much angst and woe and broke my heart. Honestly, I'm trying here, but I'm getting zip.
3. What do you most want to see? (Intentionally vague questions ftw.)
Intentionally vague questions are hard! My dear friend Kathleen (aka Kit-kat) whom I haven't seen in near on three years now. (She might take insult at being a "what", though.)
4. What do you least want to see?
A corpse in the bathtub. Irrational fear #2 for the win.
5. If you could spend a week in any fictional universe, which one and why? Who would you meet while you were there?
You make hard questions, missy. Thursday Next's universe, because there's dodos and book-jumping and people there appreciate books. I'd spend my week jumping from book to book meeting all sort of literary characters. (I realize this is sort of cheating, as I'd go anywhere, anytime, and meet anyone.)

3. *snork* Okay, putting aside Zachary Quinto, I'd have to say it's a toss-up between Neil Gaiman and Ursula Vernon. You've heard of them both, so I needn't elaborate.
4. Lack of plotholes. Intriguing premise. Good characterization. Polished style.
Hot sex.5. Oh god. Um. I have NO idea. Probably either Power Lines-- coauthored, I forget by who-- or... dammit, I have no idea, honestly. XD The Deed of Paksenarrion, maybe.
