Oct. 30th, 2006 03:51 pmIn this article, scientists foam at the mouth about people being stupid and believing in vampires, ghosts and witches because it's scientifically impossible. I will refrain from mentioning most religions as comparison. And to the guy who "proved" there can't be vampires because if they went around sucking one person each day, making them vampires, there would be a zero human population, like, yesterday? Like you freakin' know that's how it works.
Currently downloading a bunch of compilations from
cleolinda (she of the published fifteen-minutes movie parodies), which are summed up here.
Was too slow to get to download the song "Re: Your brains" by Johnathan Coulton. Apparently it's hi-larious. Here's the lyrics, which have the lines, "All we want to do is eat your brains / We’re not unreasonable, I mean, no one’s gonna eat your eyes".
Have Bio GRE this Saturday and am feeling a bit cowed by it, and also a smidge behind on the studying. Also quite sick of the whole concept.
"Spoke" with Mom on Friday. Basically, it started out with my trying to tell her how my week was, her immediately saying she doesn't want to hear it or hear me complain (which I may do a bit to her, but I have no one here to talk to about anything so it kinda bottles up). Then out of fucking nowhere she starts yelling at me about varied topics she must've jotted down in various fits of inspiratory rage. The result was a shitty weekend, emotionally speaking.
Although Saturday I went to MCarmen's house to celebrate my B-day one month later. I didn't study a whit. Instead, I talked, helped pack away groceries, had paella, cake and Cava (which is Spanish champain, specifically from the province Cataluña). I talked to MCarmen a lot about the roommates and life and mysteriously shrinking pants. Then they took me home ladden with food (including chocolate) and I had dinner with the roommates, their boyfriends and two more Frenchies (Anna brought them over for a visit). The guys cooked (as they always do) and it was good. Fun, too, except the end results was me eating constantly for the entire afternoon into the wee night hours, including 2 pieces of cake. Why, yes, I'm sensitive about that right now.
