Walk a tight rope on a razor's edge.*
Feb. 1st, 2008 11:46 pmNothing like watching New York get the shit beat out of it to put a spring in your step. :D I went out for a walkabout and ended up watching Cloverfield - despite being incredibly spoilered for it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It certainly gets you involved, but it's definately not a horror or scary movie (as some wimps were claiming it was, just to not watch it). I only jumped one, due to an "omgwtf in your face!" moment. T'was good.
Thankfully, I now no longer feel like crying at the drop of a hat. Wait, no, strike that. I could cry at the drop of a hat, but metaphorically speaking, I'm no longer checking out the hat-wearing folk and the wind's dropped.
Speaking of wind: zomg! I can't give you numbers for Den Haag, but here's Amsterdam, which I'm sure is on the same page as us:
Partly cloudy
4°C (Feels Like: -2)
Wind: W 46km/h
Wind gusts: 67km/h
Walking against the wind is virtually impossible, and walking with the wind turns into "running whilst being pushed by the wind". Eep! We will coloqually refer to this as the "Pancake-landscape effect" (aka. "Oh gods, please don't let my windows break!")
And now I'm happying sipping ontime thyme with honey. Delish. It's to complement my supper of stale popcorn and the wonderful crack that are Maltesers.
Last night I googled around a bit for covers for a few fanmixes-but-not (actually, just mixes) that I've got running through my head. Finding a decent picture of a surging river's edge with a piece of driftwood is prooving particularly hard. As is one of a big, pink fluffy jacket. *sigh*
