I have done very, very little today.

I had a Sylar dream, in which he was more of a Gabriel, and rather teary!scared - wtf, Sy?. He was, however, adoreable. The dream was probably due to reading a gazzillion fics by [livejournal.com profile] capn_mactastic in too short a time. Curisously, while this isn't my first Heroes-related dream, methinks it is my first Sylar one. "Methinks" because it's been years since I stopped scribbling down my dreams - which increased dream-recall tremendeously - and thus barely remember dreams now.

My first recorded Heroes dream was on the night of Dec. 27 (OC tendencies, yes, I know). It involved a skating-rink, on which I found it incredibly easy to skate backwards. (I totally can't in RL.) Claire is walking along with Bennet, who's explaining how this is a fabricated universe, later showing on an electronic blackboard (a la Serenity) their galaxy and others, and the fakety**. As I'd just read Starshine (Ten/Master/TARDIS, NC-17) by [livejournal.com profile] versaphile - pimped by [livejournal.com profile] 45eugenia and her manip - the night before, I suppose we can be thankful that my brain focused on the galaxy aspect of it.

My second Heroes was much, much cooler, if only because it was plot-tastic. I'd finally caved and acquired a couple of Season 1 episodes (i.e. Unexpected and Parasite, for obvious reasons). Watching the whole episodes through, I remembered how much I'd liked Isaac, and I suppose some of this must've resonated in my subconscious.

Ye Great Dream of Isaac Mendez, as I later called it, was very architecturally-heavy, with many a meander through an impossibly-built house with bright white walls. First, pov is walking in the top floor, across to a living room which brings it to another house, still connected to the previous one but obviously a different residence, and then downstairs.

Somewhere along the timeline of this dream-world, a woman is found dead from a gunshot wound at a canal-cleanup conveyer belt (ah, Waste Water Treament Plant memories, they show up when least expected). Apparently, the water-cleaning system in this dream-wolr is that there's a giant conveyer belt submerged in rivers and canals which dredges up garbage and then rises up out of the water, into a tunnel, and takes everything into a treatment plant. The conveyer belt is examined, covered in filth as it is, and the belt's mesh has a red spot/hole where a twig poked the woman to to death. Dream-logic forensic-type pov concludes that the woman was poked on the belt whilst still in the canal.

However, the stick isn't blamed for cause-of-death. Instead, Isaac is accused of the girl's murder, both officially and by people close to him (i.e. residents of the white-walled house), mainly because he somewhat knew her. A brief google by him about the girl brings up a man's address, by the pier. On location, it's a floating sort of house in the water, like a house-on-stilts without the stilts. Isaac confronts the man, who, it turns out, knows exactly what happened.
But I don't, because I either woke up or forgot or dream-pov figured it was all crystal-clear.

Links of the Day:

Off of Neil Gaiman's site, there's a totally legal, totally free download of his Hugo-winning A Study in Emerald. Also, old-news, but Neverwhere: Unabridged Audio is available, and read by Neil. Do you know how happy this makes me?!? Neil voicing Croup, the Marquis, Old Bailey! *swoon*
[livejournal.com profile] cleolinda posts a short list of Golden Globe winners (Go Bardem! Whoot!) and discusses plagiarism.
[livejournal.com profile] capn_mactastic requests help from Biology PhD's with different-sex monozygotic twins, which are apparently possible. Challenge accepted, google-fu on.
