No one ever said it would be so hard.*

I am seriously worried about my back and my right knee, which just won't stop aching or going into stiff spasms of pain. Limping is also not cool.

I've sent out mass emails to The Girls (except [livejournal.com profile] meaningofliff, but only because I can't find your email address, dearest, so please remedy that.

A summary by day:

Thursday:

International Student Session involving lectures on the univeristy, Dutch culture (in which we learn the economy of the cheese slicer), followed by a city tour and socializing.

Room viewing of a decent place followed by viewing of a Pit of Voles. Have since been rejected as a canditate to both. (Aparently there's some sort of Dutch and Vole race- and speciesism going on.)

Friday:

All of 2 hours with mom on her stop-over from Barcelona-Amsterdam-Toronto plane trip.

Boat ride around the larger canals of Leiden and a trip to the science museum.

Saturday:

Trip to Den Haag (i.e. the Hage, legislative capital) to see The Perfect Room. Made a very good impression, was a very good candidate, but have since been regected. (Amusingly enough, Karma was on my side on that, becuase my phone card ran out during the rejection, so it's sort of like I hung up on him and his appologies.)

Sunday:

A restful night due to being sure of having The Perfect Room, followed by a gigantic pancake/crepe at a Pancake House, then a trip to Amsterday to have coffe and then supper (homemade pizza using a nifty electric pizza oven) with HighSchool friend Lotte, who despite being Dutch grew up abroad, so has had to go throught the whole adaptation process. We had a good The Dutch Are Wierd covnersation. After 6 years of being out of touch - and not that we were close in HS - she's grown up remarkably well into a very sensible young woman. This is also the first time that I renew contact with someone from my "previous life stage". (Except for that one time with Laura and Aparajita, Highschool friends of Montral, a mere 2 years after leaving).

The evening was spent in a fit due to a) rejection and b) finding out that my Basic Statistics course started last week, which 50% of my class didn't know either. The Prof., of Harald, as he prefers, is being super sweet and giving us the quick version in four days - and printing all the notes and readings for me because, since I'm not completely registered at the university, due to housing, I can't access the University Internet Network.

Monday:

I had breakfast at 4:30 pm due to a) Introduction to Masters - finally, I know what the fuck I'm supposed to be doing, until December at least (i.e. compulsory courses which last a few weeks and are taken one after the other) and b) basic stats. Hardly studied for Friday's stats exam.

Tuesday:

Stats on a fuller stomach and viewing later on today at Den Haag. Also haven't studied yet.
