I've baked peanut butter cookies, have a pizza in the oven and a shot of Baileys in the fridge (I'm trying something new**). I don't know whether to watch the Tenth Dr. Who on You Tube (part 1 of 1x01) or Heroes 1x18 Parasite (which the lovely
acaciaonnastik*** writes about here). Would that all my decision were like this.
I'm feeling pretty uppity, probably because I have free rein in my Uncles house. Ah, the freedom!
I spent last weekend, as well as Monday and Tuesday, in Burgos. I went with my Uncles, who were shipping Gran over to my Uncle Pablo, until she and her sister can got to the residence (aka "old folk's home") in June.
I stayed with my Great Aunt Conchita (short for Concepcion, ie "conception", as in "imaculate".) She's a wonderful woman, very active and very quick of mind. Quite a charm. We played a board game with Gran, I played checkers with Jaime (Conchita's late-married hubby) and checked out old (really, really old) photographs of my Gran and Great Aunt as young lasses, my Great Great Gran, my mom as a little titch of a girl (and as an absolutely gorgeous young woman - she was so beautiful!) and a heck of a lot more.
Saturday I went to Villaveta, which is my Gran's village (now with definately no more than a dozen full-year inhabitants - and that's the optimistic estimate). I walked about the country side with Pablo and caught a few glimpses of the avutarda (Otis tarda, or Great Bustard) with the binoculars.
I also got to shoot birdshot with the carbine, or rifle! First time ever! I'm a terrible shot, what with the pathetic aim and the unsteady grip, but I managed to get up to 3 points. (Which means I actually hit the target, which is good.) I think I prefer bow-and-arrow, which I tried once on a little camping trip with my high school. (I also managed to hit the target then too, but little else.)
I had delicious churros twice for breakfast. Mmmm, churros...
And that's it for today, my dears. I've got a few links up my sleeves for you all, but I also have a fastly cooling pizza. Sorry, but pizza wins out.

** 'S called liquor. (ETA: Blargh. Ew. I think I definately don't like Baileys, at least straight up. Quick! a cookie to clear away the flavour!)
*** She writes very interesting reviews for Heroes, has icons, and even an outdated Eden fanmix. I am so totally going to keep up with her journal.
