I'm Brian and so's my wife!*

Thursday night I spent on Wiki, reading up on guns again – “researching” – and learned about holsters, firearm modification, handguns – including the Saturday Night Special, mousegun, junk gun and pocket gun. After this I wrote near some 200 words of fic (making a total of 300), which barely grazes the introduction-part of the new scene. There was only a passing mention of a pocket holster and mousegun.
Life:
My life is pretty drab at the moment. I swam three days this week (!), got cancelled on babysitting for as the mom's recupperating from surgery (?), and clicked on a bunch of links, which I'll share.
Now I'm in Cubelles, alone with Gran as my uncles are off in some other town with friends. It's been drizzling all day, second or third time all year. *sigh* I miss the tropical downpours of my youth. I watched 2nd half of Constantine. Quite pretty at times (including Keanu), but definitely a after-lunch-lets-see-what's-on-tv kinda deal. I baked peanut butter cookies. (Ate one; something must be wrong with me.)
Sociability:
I’ve been trying to comment more on threads and generally be more active on the net. I’ve even given the imdb a shot – on From Hell and OUaTiM. I managed to get a response in FH (about the historical accuracy of the frontal lobotomy depicted),but no one will help me out with the plot hole in OUaTiM. *wails* Coo-ee, one response! Which, unfortunately, doesn't quite help me out, because that still leaves us wondering why Sands would go through all that trouble to just lie there waiting for Ajedrez to come along... *confuzzled*
Last night I spoke with my roommate - hey, we all make mistakes - and got on the topic of Valentines (since she has a beau). I joked about my having a bit of envy, occasionally, when shoved Happy!Couple images in my face. (Envy which I don't have. I save that for the kissing scenes in films.) The talk then descended into a "if you keep hiding out in your room you're not going to make any friends" and "wouldn’t you like to go out with people?" lecture.
Well, fuck me, really?
First off, I don't "hide out in my room". The fact that I'm in my room when the others come home is no surprise considering they rarely wander in before 10:30 pm. And I would totally go out with people if I had people to go with. Honestly, I have no friends here. (Sucketh, yes, muchly. Woe, yes. Am I dealing? Yup.) What am I supposed to do? I tried making friends in my language classes, but no luck. (Except that one girl who's now in France.) How am I going to make friends now? Go to bars and pick people up? Those aren’t exactly true and fast friends. (Well, fast, maybe.) *grr*
Random stuff I'm doing:
Retagging my entries (I’m at September, 2005) I’ve realized I have to make masterlists of stuff I’ve linked to. Like, say, comics, artists and fic writers.
I’ve also been making a list of icons that would be cool as theoretical t-shirts. Why? Because I’m weird that way.
Have also decided that one day I'll have to read the first official vampire novel, Carmila.
Films:
I need to watch Army of Darkness, for its quotes be amusing, as well as Ginger Snaps (Go Canadian Horror Films!) and Requiem for a Dream, mainly because the song I have likewise titled is amazing.
As for manga, I need to watch Ghost in the Shell, Blood: The Last Vampire, and Princess Mononoke, for which, I think, NGaiman won some sort of prize for his English translation/adaptation.
*squee* *chortle* *giggle* Farce of the Penguins is a "2007 direct-to-DVD parody film of the 2005 film March of the Penguins. The motion picture features Samuel L. Jackson as narrator, with the two main characters being voiced by Bob Saget, who also wrote and directed the movie, and Lewis Black. [...] ThinkFilm describes Farce of the Penguins as the story of “one penguin’s search for love while on a 70-mile (112-km) trek with his libidinous buddies on their way to a hedonistic mating ritual.” Despite what the poster suggests, Farce of the Penguins is not an animated feature; it uses real footage of penguins."
