One day, practically new
Apr. 4th, 2006 06:15 pmI wasn´t going to post, but really must now that I´ve confirmed that metaquotes really is how I get my news. Allow me to quote point out one entry´s title: regarding the Tim Hortons bombing this morning. Why on earth would people want to blow up a coffee place? PLus, they make good coffe, not like that Starbucks crap.
Anyway, day really has been a waste of time. I might as well have given this day dirrectly to Bill Door (i.e. Death*). Wandered about for an hour waiting for it to be 5 so I could go ask if my student ID card was ready (it wasn´t, said the rude, rude man who refused to speak to me in Spanish). Highlights? I have frozen lemonade, found an "English Oasis" bar where I could, in theory, ask for a coffe in English, and saw two pigeons fuck (didn´t last very long and pigeonette seemed a might bored).
OMFG!!! Huge seagull at the window!!!
...er, it´s gone now.
Tonight is the Season 1 finale for House (yes, I know, we´re way behind, aren´t we?). Still haven´t looked for slash fics in the fandom, but am gleeful to know that at some point in the futuresome guy Wilson, who´s a good cook, moves in with House for entirely non-slash reasons. (So they say.)
I´ve been looking for vocab and idioms revolving around movies and books, jotting down words like "claymation" and "stock character" and have come accross what apprears to be a mass case of list-making-itis over in Wikipedia´s character section, even characters we never see. And theren there´s the Mar< Sue entry, which is nice.
If anyone comes up with any movie- or story-related word or expression a budding English-speaker should know, do tell before this Saturday.
PS: What? Everyone respected the "Do not read" post? Am so disappointed...
* Not, y´know, death Death, but the Death who likes cats and curry and chocolate chip cookies and can´t play chess because he can´t remember how to move the knight. And omg letter C overkill much?
