Am all IKEAed out but oh it was worth it. I might now have even too much storage space, but that's awesome. I'm a bit concerned that my suitcase - which is on my flimsy wardrobe - might just fall through the wood. Boots are heavy, yo.

Anyway, my back hurts like billy-o and I'm going to snuggle up in bed and watch Part 2 of Crime and Punishment (the John Simm version). Story's a bit slow - or rather, simple - but it's got Simm and Doctor Who's Mr Tyler and the direction is just bloody gorgeous, with the colours, the slow-motion and the sped-up motion... And yes, Simm's absolutely gorgeous as well, with the long hair and the crazy moments. It's like a depressed Russian version of Sam Tyler. Loves it.

I'm still seriously jonesing for some quality Ben time, though. Damn you, Lost, come back. And while on the Ben-obsession, the man's fifty-odd. I feel all weird when I remember that. Not that I find Michael Emerson attractive per se (oddly adorable at times? Yes.) but rather this is a case of "character over everything else". Y'all know me and psychotic evil bastards, especially when they're not exactly that and just so much more complex, so that explains Ben. But then the actor's also freakin' interesting in his own right, well-spoken, humerous and can totally handle interviews in an amazing way. ETA: See what I mean? Is he or is he not adorably wonderful?!? ETA 2: Oh god the voice-clip! The voice-clip! ♥!!!

...I may need to get out more.

Also? Flatmate Renske just gave me too pieces of chocolate with a mascarpone+amaretto mousse thingy. Delish + aw, geez = happy Sickle

Here, have some more Dutch Music of the Dancefloor. The Opposites "Dom, Lomp & Famous" (Stupid, Rude** and Famous), an extremely catchy song. They appear to be mainly a rap band. Warning: ball-grabbing in undies 0.0

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] x_rose_tyler_x informs us Whovians to do the following for a major awesome little thingy:

1º Open the bbc DW site http://bbc.co.uk/doctorwho
2º Go to your bar with the time and date on your computer (don't close the page)
3º Change the day to any random day in the 9 future days (when the episode is shown), but try keeping both, the clock and the webpage open at the same time or you'll miss it!
4º Look what it shows... and then come and tell me!!!

ETA 2: [livejournal.com profile] ursulav astounds me with her Golem Girl story snippet and The Mandrake Girl. Seriously, this woman's amazing.

ETA 3: [livejournal.com profile] crazy_pill does awesome icons and, for a wallpaper, describes Ben in a wonderfully way:

I was kinda surprised how this wally turned out in the end. First it kinda crept me out, but now I'm more or less okay with it, that's why I dared to post it. I never had an initial plan in mind (except for trying to escape tons of stuff I had to memorize for my finals), so I just played around with two pictures I fell in love with over at the Lost Photo Gallery. Then, after a few hours of aimless fooling around, this thing was born out of my exam period misery. I guess my subconscious was working hard, though, because now that I look at it, it kinda sums up S02 Ben by showing his 3 basic personalities we NOW know he possessed back then:

1) the frail, open, emotional, but fake Henry in the front, looking ahead (almost into your eyes);

2) the cold, collected, calculating leader of the Others hidden behind, avoiding eye-contact;

3) and buried even deeper is "just Ben" who (I think) is probably a complicated mixture of the previous two (hence the slightly faded coloring - not as vivid as Fake Henry's, but not as statue-like as Ben, the leader's). He's the young boy whom Annie loved and cared so much about. The son who's still tormented/crippled by the crushing guilt of having caused the death of his own mother. The father who carries his daughter's picture with him everywhere he goes. The (former) book club guy who (allegedly) hates Stephen King, but still read Carrie to please Juliet. Yeah, Ben is a very complex fella, and I just love him for it. Everybody who simply labels him an evil bastard misses out on a great deal of fun.
