I watched the pilot of The Walking Dead, whose poster I'd been seeing everywhere on the metro and thought was a zombie movie but is instead a zombie tv show which means zombies every week which is FTW. I liked it so far - it helps that the lead a) wears a sheriff uniform, b) was the "to me, you are perfect" character from Love, Actually and c) has an adorable accent of adorableness. I also like that it's quiet - some shots just go on and on showing you the world and you can't hear a thing. One thing I loved? He got a horse. A horse! He was riding through the city on a horse in the middle of the apocalypse with guns strapped to his back! It was very Hot Fuzz. See?

Hot Fuzz:

The Walking Dead:

Unfortunately, the horse will not be appearing in further episodes, which upsets me.

ETA: Okay, there were two things I loved. The second was seeing Human Target's Baptiste. \o/ Sadly, he doesn't have his crazy awesome English accent from gods-know which corner of the isle, but he's still awesome.

Also, I keep expecting to see Chip somewhere in there, and it tickles my heart to see a crowbar in action, or people driving out of an infected city, or anything like that. Good ol' Charles! He'd fit right in.

I've also got a meeting or interview tomorrow with Person from Organization (not to be confused with Person from the same Organization) about possibly doing something with them in something related to the environment. This is all I know about the interview - which I learnt about today - because this is more of a meet-and-greet, "hey, I know that person who knows you" thing thank anything. I should be squeeful or fearful but I'm feeling a bit like Sam at the moment, in that I'm not feeling very much at all.

Nanowrimo: Feeling rather burnt out from writing, feeling like nothing's happening despite a lot of things happening, and that I'm just fudging it. Chip even had a panic attack which did nothing to advance the plot, and the Agatha showed off some mad skillz, yo, which at most will be a detail. But I think what's up next is a quick night patrol, a snuggle, then zoom zoom skip to the next evening.

The world was blood red. Everything he saw, everything he touched, was dripping with that delicious shade. The touch of all those waves and particles dancing across his skin was intoxicating. He could feel them coiled tight, tempting him to unravel them, flatten them out of their oscillations as he did to everything else, and bring an end to their rise and fall and rise and blissful fall.

There were so many different shades of red. Humans said that blood was red, but that was a gross oversimplification. Any artist could tell you that blood was not merely red. No, it was maroon, crimson, carmine (and carmelian). It was burgundy like their wine, rosewood like the Dalbergia, rust like everything they built. Blood was rufous, russet, venetian, vermillion, one in a million. There was no end to its names, and that in but a single language. Other languages had other words – kirmizi, merah, rot, rouge, uzun – and they all rolled over his tongue smoothly like the blood they coloured. He drank deep of kizil and revelled in kezel, feeling a certain kinship with words so old, so red, and so like his name.
