I went with mom to the Ethnic Market today, where we got papadams and mangoes and looked for Sohan papdi, which we found, but not the brand we knew and definitely not at a good price.

I looked through about 600 job ads yesterday, found a few which I could, concievably, if you squint, be elegible for. Mom is less than supportive by this point about my lack of employment and says that, come September, I just have to grab onto whatever I can. To which I reply that that's been my damn motto ever since I first started looking for a job. It's not like I've been saying no to any job, damnit.

My psyche - that metaphorical anthropomorphic personification of my mental state - is currently up a tree on an alien planet with a psychopath. Good times.

Also, I had the most distressing dream last night:

I'm working as a doctor at Seattle Grace Hospital [Grey's Anatomy marathons, hello.] and there is a man who needs help but is being difficult. We're trying to trick him to accept or be okay with it and Alex Karev is fiddling with a self-bleeding gown - it seeps blood when you put pressure on it. [Tell me that isn't fantastically awesome!] This is demonstrated with a hand pressed against to Cristina Yang's crotch, who is wearing the gown as a tester. [Somewhere in his grave, Freud perks up.] Lexie Grey puts the gown on a table and it bleeds. The man puts his hands on her and tries to strangle her to death. [Sounds a bit like the scene with Owen Hunt and Cristina.]

The patient - now a crazy antempted-murderer - has to go to the bathroom, so he's wheeled off to the wheelchair bathrom but the place is full. He comes back later with wielding box cutter discretly at me in a vaguely threatening way. I talk to Bailey about it then take the guy outside into the street where I see a Bailey in scrubs and a Bailey in civilian clothes and the man standing around. The man kidnaps me or tries to.

I go running inside the hospital, which has the CSI: Las Vegas offices on the upper floor and they're working on the case - the patient is now a wanted criminal. In a theatre I tell Bailey and Gil Grissom what happened.

In a small room, a group of us are working on a giant thick plastic puzzle with letters, except we're doing it as hostages to pass the time. I get news that the criminal has sent me a cheeky note about my mail - this now being Toronto - and going on about how mean I am. I'm torn between ebing relieved because he couldn't possibly know where I live and is lying because I never actually get mail, and I'm scared because hly shit, he might know where I live and what's with the obsession?

I'm scared to go home although I leave the hostage-puzzle room and close the door. [So it doesn't seem awful, but it was a long and fairly logical dream about a psychotic killer having it in for me and stalking and kidnapping me, so excuse me if I was freaked.]
