Life of the Sickle:

So my mom comes tomorrow - d'you hear me, volcano?!? - and then we will begin the packing process. I've checked out the road-transport company a bit more incase there's too much stuff I want to keep and yet can't take on board. Cue panic - er, more panic. I have too much stuff!

I've got a beverage-date with the American couple from the ski trip on Friday. I'm selling my wardrobe to Some Guy on Saturday. After packing stuff mom and I'll be doing touristy things, like going to the Keukenhof for tulip-gazing and Den Haag for dimsum eating. Things are moving ~~as am I which is the whole problem!~~ which is good.

Because lately things have not been moving. I've been absolute shite at going outside, eating healthily or getting the ol' ticker to work at more than baseline. I believe the words flab and jiggle can be used. Ugh. Once I get my life ~~back together~~ somewhat settled, I'm going to try and not be so squishy.

And what have I been doing instead of, well, doing things? Basically, I'm not lying when I say, "Grey Anatomy bed marathons", which translates to, "Couldn't be buggered to be buggered about anything." I mean, it's a shit coping mechanism, but I either hibernate by going into zombiemode or this happens, only I don't even need to have books in front of me.

Fandom Rambles

1) I've read meta saying how people keep forgetting that Dean is Michael's sword first and foremost, not Michael's Vessel, not Micahel-in-potentia. The meta -

amonitrate's Daddy's Blunt Little Instrument (And Other Thoughts) - then went on about how Dean has always been - or seen himself as - a tool, a weapon. And now he's heaven's weapon.

The dialogue that made me go, "Duh! Facepalm!" about that:

ZACHARIAH: Michael's not gonna kill me!
DEAN: Maybe not, but I am!

And then Dean stabs him with the angel sword. Dean, Michael's Sword, kills Zachariah. This is a bit like, "Guns don't kill people, people do!" except where the gun is the sword is Dean and the people is Michael.

2) All that Meta on the use of red and blue (and now green) in Supernatural by

zimshan (here) got me thinking about this moment with the firecrackers. Dean's face is lit red when he's looking to the sky - heavenward - and then is lit green when he looks at Sam whose face is now red and looking up to the sky. Up to heaven is red for both Winchesters, down to Sam from Dean is green. What does this mean?!?

3) In the Sookie Stackhouse novels (see also: True Blood), there's a bartender called Sam who is a shapeshifter and turns into a collie. Which Sookie names Dean. So the same person is both Sam and Dean. Samndean. This makes me flail with fandom-crossover glee.

4) Continuing my love affair with Grey's Anatomy, I'm shocked and disappointed to a) read about the dismissals and the drama and b) see that Sandra Oh has been nomintated five years in a row for an Emmy. Five. And no win? Come on already, people! She's brilliant! Just give it to her already!

When I was in my late first decade, I drove my parents crazy by insisting we listen to Madonna's Vogue and the Dick Tracy soundtrack every day on my way to school. My mom can't walk around certain spots in Rome without Madonna suddely piping in her ear.

10. Are you a risk taker?
Ha! No. Unless the risks are explained, laid out and given statistical probabilities. Which I guess defeats the point...

11. How do you want to be remembered?

12. Where do you see yourself in ten years?
If I knew, I wouldn't be having all these problems, now would I?!?

13. If you could spend one day with any celebrity, who would it be?
I wouldn't, because it'd be terrible awkward and I'd feel awful about it, the whole, "Here's some random fan, Celebrity, please entertain or at least put up with this blubbering idiot of a fan." If it was a celebrity I really respected, or had crushed on, or thought was OMGSOAWESOME then I'd be a mass of quiverring inferiority complexes. So it would have to be a nice celebrity. And one who wasn't shy, because by our powers combined, shyness-squared doth not greatness make. So I don't know, okay? That said...Misha Collins or David Tennant. Or Neil Gaiman, if he counts. (He'd be lovely, I think.) Although I suspect Jared Padalecki would be awesome to hang out with in the sense that the above quiverring complexes and shyness and blubbering wouldn't be an issue because he seems to ooze comfort. (Look, I don't know, okay?)

14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
Nonexistant. I'm a rebel! I meme when not tagged!

15. Would you rather be single & rich or married but poor?
Single and rich all the way. Who says being married would make me happy anyway?

Zero. But if by some maddness I have a child, I'd have another one. Siblings, yo: apparently they can be nice.

Both, if they're frisky that way. Or, y'know, the one that'll have me.
